NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- The Hornets say Eric Gordon will have arthroscopic surgery on his injured right knee on Tuesday and be out at least an additional six weeks.

Gordon, who has played in only two games this season, bruised his knee in the season opener, when he scored 20 points in a victory at Phoenix and hit the game-winning shot.

He came back Jan. 4 against Philadelphia, scoring 22 points in a loss, but has not played since.

Damn.

This is just putting the Hornets in an even tougher spot as far as what they'll be willing to pay Eric Gordon this summer.

Raptors don't mind paying a great amount for Gordon this summer.

Or if Hornets are willing, Ed Davis for Eric Gordon.

That's the same as letting him walk for nothing.

He's slacking this year a bit but he's putting up Joakim Noah numbers if you compare their first 2 seasons together.

Davis can be a solid 10 and 10 player if given the minutes.

Nice trade David Stern  worst record in NBA and knee surgery on key player in the deal. That Minnesota draft pick better be the next superstar haha. He sure killed the value of the Hornets franchise.

my guess is they intentionally mishandled the knee situation knowing he needed surgery to make sure they didnt have to pay him. its all PR

Lamar Odom is so horrible this season

Hornets are horrible right now and that's thanks to Gordon.

Odom, Scola and Martin would have brought them to the 8-14 pick.

So first he's day to day with a bruised knee. Then he's week to week with inflammation. Then he's out three weeks to six weeks with a bone chip. Now he's out six more weeks with surgery. Does this sound suspicious to anyone??? Thanks for screwing over my fantasy team Eric.... Smh

rockets are 6th right now with a starting 5 of dalembert-SCOLA-parson-KMART2-lowry with guys like budinger, lee, dragic, hill, etc. on the bench.

if the cp3 trade to the lakers didnt get vetoed then the hornets starting 5 would probably look like this.

C Okafor
PF Scola
SF Ariza
SG Martin
PG Jack
6 Odom
7 Landry
8 Bellineli

the only good thing happening right now with the clippers trade was the wolves 1st and the hornets sucking to get a top 5 pick.

Nope. That Minnesota draft pick will probably be a solid role player for them in the 9-12 overall range.. But that NEW ORLEANS pick that they own, will probably be either Anthony Davis or Harrison Barnes. Pair that with Gordon and whoever the Minny pick is (lets just say Perry Jones from Baylor)

And the 2012-2013 Hornets have Eric Gordon / Harrison Barnes / Perry Jones and not a lot of money on the books to attract potential owners. A wonderful place to start. EG not playing this year probably saved them 5-10 wins and got them a couple extra ping pong balls. Plus he'll probably be 100% next season. Don't discount sneaky Stern.

This is still a better trade. The future might be bright for them. He will be sign cheap if it's true, but I think that they want to tank so much that he is faking injury.xD
