Lakers, these aren't guaranteed to be the rosters going into the playoffs, if they get jr smith obviously they'd be better than they are. But the lakers are going to make moves. they will get someone.

This is impossible to answer until the deadline IMO. This won't be the same Laker team in a couple of weeks. Clippers can do some changes too

For me, it depends on if they get JR Smith. Losing Billups was a really big deal.

Currently, I think the Clips are capable, but I'd go with the Lakers in 7. Pre Billups injury, I had Clips in 6.

I don't think either team will make it further than the other. I'm predicting second round exits for both.

I think your father would predict that the Lakers take it because of their playoff experience :D

My dad is dead so this thread is offensive............

Seriously though, as currently constructed, I think the clippers do, because the lakers lack of PG matches up horribly with the PG's of: Thunder/Spurs/Nuggets/Clippers/etc

You got a point here but I don't see the Lakers getting anyone that would give them that much advantage over the Clippers.

The Clippers will always be the Clippers. The Lakers will always be the Lakers.
The Clippers will find a way to lose. The Lakers will find a way to win.

That said, looking at both the teams as they stand, the Clippers are performing much better and wouldn't be shocked to see them advance pretty far.

Clippers.

Lakers will self-destruct like they always do and Clippers will find a will to win like they always do.

... Or something like that.

I go with the team that can play defense. I'm not looking too much into their offensive struggles. But I don't see the clippers going farther than the lakers.

I voted for my Clipps of course, but I'm not sure we can do it. Chauncey going down hurts our chances to do damage in the playoffs. I already us vs Lakers in a 7 game series would be a coin flip with Chauncey, without his clutch I'm not sure we can handle their experience.

I do still think my Clipps can go all the way because I really think a lot of teams can this year. Just depends on who's healthy and hot. We would have to make a move or 2 or have some surprising guys (Gomes :hide:) get hot. Maybe Bledsoe's youth and athleticism can make more of an impact than Chancey's ball handling and late game heroics, but I doubt it.

billups being out hurts the clippers chances. he was the seasoned vet on that team. but i still think clippers have more depth. and a strong starting lineup

Clippers as long as Sterling doesn't come into contact with them. Seriously don't even say high to him or shake his hand if you're a player.

I'm gonna be a homer and say the Clippers. However, they cant lob it all the time because its playoffs... the bench kinda sucks with Gomes and Foye as well as DeAndre Jordan not having any footwork, just dunks.

If anyone is a longtime clip fan, this year alone makes it okay to be a giant homer

Not a big believer in depth bein a necessity in the playoffs, and we will see about our offense

a ramon sessions/jose calderon type player would do wonders for the lakers. if the lakers get one of these guys, teams can be in for a bit of a "surprise" in the playoffs

unless the lakers add at least 2 more guys with pulses i don't see them having the depth to win multiple seven game series'

The offense is kind of lacking from what I've seen during the season though. In the beginning of the season, Vinny would put all of the bench players with a lead and then suddenly the other team catches up because nobody in the bench generates offense... Foye and Gomes shoot threes when they shouldn't and Chris Paul should be a facilitator not a scorer, he's really carrying the team.

Lakers are a 2nd round team at best. While the Clips are 1st round knock out unless they catch the right team.. Lack of front court depth will kill Clips in long run.. Billups injury is huge....

I predict that Donald Sterling messes the team up before the trade deadline and make clippers less of a threat.

blystr2002
02-14-2012, 03:00 PM
The clippers with 17 wins just lost Billups.

The Lakers with 16 wins have played more games than most teams, so will benefit when the games get spread out, more experience, and 2 all star caliber 7 footers to go with Kobe.
Also, the playoffs are more of a half court game, which favors the Lakers.

This should be saved till after the trade deadline, but I'll take the Lakers.

For some time I thought it was going to be the Clippers, but with the loss of Mr. Big Shot, without question the answer is the Lakers. The Lakers have their own version of Mr Big Shot-> #KobeSystem Bryant.

If the Clippers still had Billups, I'd say them but now its a toss up. I think they face each other in the 1st or 2nd round.

trade Kobe for Ryan Gomes

02-15-2012, 04:29 AM
Lakers need a PG and a SF, IF they address those 2 positions with a PG who can create for others and be an offensive threat(Sessions) and a SF who can defend and knock the open jumper(no clue?) Lakers would be a force to be reckoned with
