Lin looks amazing. Of course it is only 3 games but he is built for the Knick system. Should be interesting with Davis coming back. Tghey went to the worst PG's in the NBA to a guy who is putting in 20 and 9(yeah just for 3 games but against some decent PG's).

This will really help Amare and Chandler. If the black hole Anthony can adept they will be a force in the NBA this season.

Well I am not a Knick diehard. If Lin is for real then this is a dangerous team. Curios what they will do if Davis is healthy. If JR Smith gets added that will give them instant offense off the bench.

The amount of offense that the Knicks have should be enough to scare any team however, I don't think they can beat the Heat or the Bulls in a seven game series ideally I'd love for them face off against the 76ers would be a great series

The Eastern Conference Finals will go through Madison Square Garden. Amare has finally received a legitimate point guard who can set him up. The Knicks have one of the greatest 3 point shooters of all-time in Steve Novak. Tyson Chandler will be the guy who stops any big man the opponent might have. Fields will be there to shoot the long ball or run around the court to create mismatches and make good plays. Melo will either play in the system or get traded for better pieces. The bench will feature Iman "The Real Deal" Shumpert, Josh Harrellson, Jared Jeffries (for defense) and Baron Davis. This might be one of the deepest teams in the league.

If you are discrediting statistics and based off pure opinion then your previous statement is correct. Pretty much is all I have to say to that.

Chicago Bulls havent looked good ever since Rose went down with Turf toe so I guess that means they are a first round exit this year right?

The Bulls have the best record in the East at 22-6, have won 4 straight, and have played twice as many road games as home games so far. How in the hell have the Bulls not looked good since Rose's turf toe injury?

It really depends on if Melo and Stat can come back and trust Lin to run the offense. If they get the ball in a spot where they can't score they're going to need to pass it back to Lin to reset.

One of the reasons why Lin is so effective is because everyone is willing to make that extra pass because they know there is a 90% chance that the next time up the floor they will at least touch the ball again.

If Amare & Melo can buy into that mentality The Knicks will be a scary team to play come playoff time.

Calling the Knicks fanbase, bandwagon when the Knicks stayed on their knees suckin ballls for a decade and still brought the most revenue to the nba through ticket sales and merch, is pretty crazy man lol.

If anything, what we have learned, basically the leagues worst kept secret, is that the Knicks need a legit PG to have any chance of success. Not saying Lin is the answer, but we can clearly see what the difference is. If Davis is a pipe dream then the FO should do whatever they can to get a PG who can run an offense. I said "an" offense instead of "this" offense because clearly Mike D'Antoni has no business coaching this team.

We always were going to be a force in the playoffs. However, Billups/Amare getting injured last year pretty much ended any shot at doing anything. If everyone stays healthy and JR Smith signs. We can certainly be a force.

Last time the Knicks entered the playoffs as an 8th seed in a lockout season they went to the Finals after having a poor start to the season. It's not too late to make a pretty good push.

I don't see how anyone can think we won't make the playoffs while Boston is 7th? We're currently 1 game back of 8th fighting off the Bucks and Cavaliers without Melo/Amare. So, long as there isn't any more injuries going on later down the road, we can be more than a force considering our problems were due to a lack of a PG.

This will really help Amare and Chandler. If the black hole Anthony can adept they will be a force in the NBA this season.

How do you define force?

If the Knicks can enter the playoffs with both Melo and Amare healthy and playing well, they will be a tough out for anyone. But their defense and guard play (sorry, need more than a 3 game sample size on Lin) will limit them making past a series or so.

This is what I hate about big market teams. All their players get so much undeserved hype. A kid has a couple good games and he's now a star meanwhile there are smaller market players doing good things but get no recognition.

rcal10

Unless the Knicks move up to 6th or better in the East they will not be a force of any kind. Even with everyone healthy and playing as well as they are capable of playing the knicks are not as good as the Bulls or the Heat. Now if they get to 6 I believe they can beat whoever they go up against. And if either the Bulls or the Heat are not healthy when the knicks play them, and the knicks are healthy, they might have a chance.

Unless the Knicks move up to 6th or better in the East they will not be a force of any kind. Even with everyone healthy and playing as well as they are capable of playing the knicks are not as good as the Bulls or the Heat. Now if they get to 6 I believe they can beat whoever they go up against. And if either the Bulls or the Heat are not healthy when the knicks play them, and the knicks are healthy, they might have a chance.

very true. If they pull a 7-8 seed, they are probably goners quickly.

My Knicks have a long way to go before thinking about they will be a force or not, the 3 win streak doesn't mask the fact mike d still hasn't learned what hisnrotationnis and still hasn't figured a way to keep amare and melo on the court together.

We have the talent and deep enough on the bench, mike d just needs to make this thing work. We havnt played well together since the melo trade, making playoffs last year was simply because there were no other good teams left in the east to knock us out.

Lin gives a legit pg, now let's see how amare and melo add into the mix. At the end of the day getting the chemistry is the only thing we need, our roster is pretty strong.

This is what I hate about big market teams. All their players get so much undeserved hype. A kid has a couple good games and he's now a star meanwhile there are smaller market players doing good things but get no recognition.

Which small market team's backup PG put up the numbers Lin did in his first 3 games, THIS YEAR? It's life. Just like Knicks not being a force in playoffs until they get good consistent play from their PG.

How do you define force?

If the Knicks can enter the playoffs with both Melo and Amare healthy and playing well, they will be a tough out for anyone. But their defense and guard play (sorry, need more than a 3 game sample size on Lin) will limit them making past a series or so.

Agreed. But it would be a fun series to watch! lol

as was their playoff series last year. The Knicks are still a player or two from competing with the big boys, but Knicks fans have to be happy with where they are now compared with 4 years ago for example. Its coming together if they can get some consistent guardplay (3 games guys, relax), and their offense starts performing like a Mike D offense should (they need an efficient PG to do that). Surprisingly, they are a top 10 defense, so if they can just start to mesh offensively, and get healthy, they will be a tough out for any team outside Miami, and probably Chicago. I think they can give Philly problems.

I don't see them being a "force", but i have to wonder why everyone keeps criticizing their defense when they have been 10th in the nba for several weeks.

Their defense has been better than S.A, Denver, and Utah. Nobody is ******** on those teams for their lack of defense.

yeah, I commented on that above, they are top 10. I think they have capable defenders in Chandler, Fields, and Shumpert for sure, but the whole team when healthy will get large doses of Melo and Amare, and that is where their team defense will suffer some. I am looking forward to watching Lin, and if he can sustain even half of what he has done the last 3 games, the Knicks will have their PG issues solved, especially if they can get ANYTHING out of Davis.

Everything we needed and then some. I also don't know what numbers there are to back this up, but i have enjoyed watching 'Melo defend this season. For better or worse he gets furious when we play defense for the first 22seconds and then Fields or Amar'e blow an assignment.

This is what it's all about. The misconception is that, people think Knicks fans believe this kid is gonna average 22 points and 12 assits. That isnt the case at all, if this kid can average 13-8, coupled with the defense and the energy he brings, the Knicks will be a tough out in the playoffs.

Will they be able to knock out Miami? Probably not. But I do think I do think they could have an outside shot at taking down Chicago.

Can't wait to see Rubio Vs Lin.

They seem similar in that they both have great court vision and don't give up their dribble, both also rebound well for PG's, yet both seem to struggle with the outside jumper.

The Knicks need some good fortune. We've been able to add some quality players over the last couple of years. We have not been able to find a PG that's going to run the team.......I think we may have found one. Now if we can get Baron Davis healthy or close to 100% as possible..... Yes we can be a force in the playoffs. Can you image Lin and Davis coming in off the bench, running the point?

No you all just went into hiding when the Knicks started sucking. The most obvious bandwagon group of fans on the whole site. If you get back to .500, it's gonna be Knick Fan Troll City in this forum again.

"U Mad?" here, and "We Got Swag, you just jealous" there. Every thread... Can't wait...

no you get a  for being so ignorant..what do you think will happen to a team when most of their fans happen to be Giants fans and their team is in the middle of a Super Bowl run..a lot of them are going to be in the NFL forum..it just so happens that Lin is starting to play good right after the SB..Most of these Knicks/Lin threads are made by non Knick fans and we get on and support our team..I can't believe a 6ers fan is back talking any NY fan when yal have been on hush all of last season..now your team starts playing good and you come out to trash the Knicks..but were the bandwagon group..yeaaaa

Our 3pt defense is putrid which some Knick fans totally ignore when they throw that "10th ranked defense" line out

We win 3 games and didnt have to deal with a legit 3pt shooting team. Not to mention Steve Novak has been shooting lights out.

I don't even want to talk about playoffs.
I predicted we'd be a 6th-7th seed team and in all likelihood we will be.
I just want to get to .500 before this talk picks up again. Too many variables to consider like how healthy Melo can stay after this injury.

lol Someone called your sig in the other Lin thread. They said he was the next Shumpert and Knicks fans would start making him their sig. I actually think from watching him play that he's better than Shumpert. But you guys are definitely jumping the gun if you already think he makes them a contender. It will be entertaining for sure. Love will be rested, so expect him to eat up Amare, but we can NEVER stop Melo, and if Lin shows up and neutralizes Rubio, the Knicks can easily win in Minnesota. I am taking Minny by 7 right now, but nothing would surprise me.

Amar'e is out until Monday so Love will be going against Jeffries
That will be brutal to watch

Melo is also out until later next week

You will literally see

Lin - Fields - Walker - Jeffries - Chandler
With Iman and Novak coming off the bench
