Many of Billups’ teammates commented in the locker room that their point guard was “done,” hinting that the Achilles was more than a strain and was, in fact, a full tear.

Damn. This lockout season is going to kill alot of players. Gallo, Billups, Rose, Melo all hurt in one day.

The NBA needed to do a better job at stretch out games. Stern and Hunter should send on apologizes for BSing to the point where the CBA isn't any different to what previous offers were and now it's costing players their health when we could have had a 75 game season and more days off.

I'll be the one to say it. This makes the Clippers better. He shot a terrible percentage all year and he can't play off the ball. If there's any team that doesn't need him as a floor leader and distributor it's Chris Paul's team. He also takes minutes away from Mo Williams (who's better right now) and Eric Bledsoe (who can be solid). There's no way in hell Chauncey could have defended James Harden over a full series, let alone Kobe or Wade. This makes the Clippers a better team.

That being said, I love Chauncey and wish him the best for the future. I hope he comes back healthy somewhere next year.

Signing JR Smith could help their guard rotation.

They can only offer the league minimum for Smith after giving their LLE to K-Mart. So I don't expect him to land there. And honestly, I don't think he'd be a good fit with LAC.

Williams is having a very good year. He's ready to step it up. It'll be interesting to see if they go with him and CP as the two starting G's even though they would always have defensive problems with opposing starting SG's.

This is very unfortunate, because Billups seems like a great person, leader and player. He deserved to be back on a contender. I truly believe the LAC had as good of a shot as any team to win the Western Conference this year after they signed K-Mart. Now it is hard to make that argument.

I don't care if its Mo Williams, Foye, JR or Arenas. That backcourt with CB and CP3 was the most dangerous in the league. Clips are no longer one of the clear cut faves out west.

The coach that manages their players's GP and MPG will probably end up going the farthest in the playoffs.

I agree with this.

Both sides wanted to get as many games in as possible... stern didn;t force this on them. It is up to the teams to protect their guys if the schedule is too tough on them. Look at Miami. Wade has been given two seperate stints to rest up nagging soreness this year. Dirk was given some time off. Pop rests TD and others a lot.

You guys are giving Chauncey more credit towards his rep than his actual play. Yes his injury hurts but it's not as bad or critical as it appears. His leadership and bball IQ will be missed for sure, but I have confidence in Foye and Mo to pick it up. I'm not worried about the offensive end, and Cp3 is more than capable of closing games. Defensively, it hurts us, but Billups as a SG defender is slightly above average at best. His lateral quickness is not the same as it was in the past. His strength and toughness will be missed. I think the loss of a guy like Caron Butler would have been more devastating, because we have nobody behind him and it massively hinders our size on the perimeter.

Yeyyy my number 1 fan responded to me. Hows my favorite troll today? In regards to your comment I will say this:

Your allowed to have your own opinion but it is highly unlikely that you will be correct in this scenario.

The Clippers can offer JR the same amount of money that the Bulls can. If you were looking for a championship contender do you really think someone is going to pick the clippers over the bulls?

Now the more realistic scenario is a starting role with a playoff team that can offer him the most money. With all his tweets and his constant following of NYK games I would have to assume that his top choice is the Knicks.

Again I can be wrong because many players hype the Knicks and then go elsewhere but considering we have no bench he can be a 6th man candidate or he can immediately start in NYK. He can get the Mini MLE which to my understanding isnt prorated meaning he gets the full 2.5 for playing in this shortened season rather then signing a veteran minimum and then having that prorated for the remainder of the season.

For people who dont think the Knicks are making the playoffs your simply fooling yourselves. Linsanity is already showing the world that he is more then capable in solving the PG issue for the Knicks.

My money is on JR Smith landing in NYK if he wants to play major minutes go on a playoff run and get a big paycheck.

The only team I can see him picking NYK over is the Bulls and thats if he is really just chasing a ring and doesnt mind the paycut.

Randy Foye time? What has that guy ever accomplished in his career? You guys don't understand that the Clips lose a former NBA Champion and former finals MVP. Yes he's old, but so what. He is the lockerroom experienced vet in the biggest of games. The Lakers dont win their 2 titles without Fisher as a co-cap with Kobe. The Mavs dont win w/o Kidd as co-cap with Dirk. Chauncey was the co-cap with CP3. Clips this season aren't going anywhere without Billups.

First of all I'm praying it's not a tear, as the MRI results still aren't back. After that I hope Chancey makes a full recovery. Beyond that I admit we will miss Chancey's cluth shooting and leadership. However statisically we can replace him. Without his .364 FG% we wouldn't need as much of his late game heroics. Billups has been clucth, but I'm reading comments that make it sound like he's our only player. If anything he's the only player out of our top 6 that we can actually replace. Foye moves to the starting lineup, Bledsoe takes over Foye's minutes. Come playoff time that could be a terrible drop off, but we'll be fine until then and have some pieces to make another move.

Billups has a higher TS% and Offensive Rating than Blake. Only Mo, DeAndre and CP3 are more efficient and one of them relies solely on dunks. There is nothing wrong with his efficiency. The one guy with championship experience and nba finals experience (caron butler doesn't count as he didn't play a single game in the postseason or finals with the 2011 mavs) is now gone.

No legit and true championship pedigree on that Clippers roster. The only guy to have played a finals game on that roster for the Clippers is Brian Cook with the Lakers in 2004 as a rookie (LOL).

If you really want to be technical....Lindsey Hunter, who had won a title with the same Lakers 2 yrs prior beat them as a Piston.

And true, I didn't think of KMart, maybe because he just signed with the Clippers. But he has yet to win a ring.
