I saw this in the NFL Forum and would like to see what all of your opinions are as well .. Please assume that you would have the potential to be great in all 3 aspects and you can only choose one for your entire career. What career choice do you pick and why?

I appreciate the good manners, but please refrain from telling me to do things.

If you can be a great player, then player. Otherwise, GM.

Easily player. If you're a great player, GMs will be dying to offer you millions and you can still be a ***** to them and their franchise.

Easy choice for me. I'd choose to be the player.

Wish it were reality. ::sigh::

GM or Player, it takes a special kind of masochist to become a head coach

Good point. So it's definitely player based on the guidelines.

I put GM. Ideally I'd rather be player, but I was trying to be realistic. I think I could do well as a GM. I don't think I could do well as a player or coach.

GM. I'd probably be top 5 GM easily right now with no outside help.

Given the perimeters, I would say player. But, realistically, it is GM by a landslide. Not that I think I would be a good GM, because it is hard to be good when you are in total awe of the talent level of even the marginal players. No, I would choose GM because professional sports has taught me that I could be lousy at it, and still be able to have a long career. Even if I lost my job, some other schmuck team would hire me to ruin them, as well.

Whoever said you would have to be a masochist to be a coach is dead on, btw.

I'd rather be an owner.

But between the three options presented, I'd rather be a head coach as I love all the strategizing the job entails.

the kinds of feelings jeremy lin had when he went off is the reason why i would be a player, imagine a whole stadium in a city like new york just chanting your name as you make shot after shot, the emotions you go through, i would play this game for free
