You said you talk to Gilbert just about every day. How is he doing? Is he just down in Orlando working out?

“Yea, he’s been working out. He said he got the — I don’t know if I’m supposed to say this — but he got that Kobe treatment on his knees…”

“Yea, yea… you could say it’s the Kobe System, but he said it feels great, his knees feel great, and he’s been working out. When I seen him last time, he looked like he was in shape. He lost a lot of weight.”

When did you last see him?

“When we went to Orlando the last time we played [the Wizards played the Magic on Orlando on January 4], so he looked like he was in good shape.”

The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly interested in Arenas, have you talked to him about playing for both of you guys’ hometown team?

“Oh yea, oh yea… most definitely. That’s a big thing for him. That’d be real big for the Lakers to add him to their team because they need a guard. They’re young… without [Derek] Fisher on the court – [Darius] Morris, I think — they’re real young at the guard spot.”

Any other teams that he might fit in with?

“I really don’t know, I just heard really about the Lakers. For him to come back home, that part, I think that would calm him down. I think it’d be good.”

Lakers should sign Arenas, kind of a low risk high reward situation, anyone is better than Fisher

Wonder if he's waiting for the Dwight trade like he said. Still good to see him healthy.

Even if he blows, he'd be worth a shot for a team like the Lakers.

Classic example of low risk, high reward.

Isn't it that "blood rushing" procedure Kobe did on himself?

it was the treatment he had done over seas awhile back... the same thing alex rodriguez had done... it was some kind of blood platelet treatment i believe

The two problems with him are

- he has no agent, so you have to negotiate with him directly
- I heard from John Ireland that he was reluctant to just do a work out unless if he knows he will get a contract, which seems quirky

Hopefully he will be joining agent shotclock in the backcourt of the Lakers

Nick Young is referring the PRP Procedure (platelet-rich plasma therapy), Kobe had it done in Germany

lakers should sign him.have him come off the bench for kobe. and if he's really good..and i mean gilbert of 06.. then maybe start him at the 1 and give him extended minutes at the 2.

like 15mpg at the 1 and and 13 at the 2

kobe can play 35mpg again.

Kapono isn't getting cut after the fo just gave him the 1y 7m deal, no way in the world mcroberts or murphy get cut, mcroberts simply because we need someone to fall back on when pau isn't on the court, and murphy has put in nice numbers with the limited amount of time he has gotten thus far, plus he's a guy who can hit the 3 with consistency, and he's just another jumpshooter that we need. if we sign kenyon martin, most likely it will be a time split at PF spot between martin and mcroberts, meaning pau will get traded for an above average pg at the least. i think this is part of the reason we haven't thrown arenas the bone yet.
