View Full Version : Which Team Is The Best Fit For Kenyon Martin?

The former Net and Denver Nugget is considering the Knicks, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers, San Antonio Spurs and Atlanta Hawks. Martin, who helped the Nets reach two NBA Finals, cannot join an NBA team until his former Chinese team, the Xinjiang Guanghui Flying Tigers, finishes their season Feb. 16.

If I were him I'd go Heat, Spurs, Clippers, Hawks, Knicks.

Maybe Clippers before Spurs, I don't know.

I don't really expect him to contribute much.

Depends how much he thinks he could contribute. If he can play close to 20-25 minutes, then the Clippers. If he's looking for a smaller role around 15 minutes per game then the HEAT. It also depends if he's willing to play some center.
Spurs - no cuze they're stacked at his position with Duncan, Blair and Splitter.
Knicks and Hawks- no cuze he wants to contend for a title not lose in the 1st round.

*BTW Florida has no income state tax or something like that so he might make a few more thousands in Miami over other minimum offers.

Clippers or Knicks

He'll play a lot on the Clippers being the first big off the bench for either Blake Griffin or DeAndre Jordan. Not to mention how he's a better FT shooter than both Griffin and Jordan so he'll be in late game situations as well.

To me its more of what plays a bigger factor for him - contention or playing time + money?
If he wants the best chance for a ring, it's obviously in Miami.
If he's looking for more playing time and money but with a smaller chance to make it to the finals its the Clippers.

cp3 to blake, dj and kmart = *drools*

Not to mention he'll add defense to the second unit. He can be the backup big with him playing PF with DJ and one of him or Blake at the 5 when they play together (small-ball). Evans and S. Jones will be used sparingly when needed.

As a huge fan of the Kidd to K-Mart connection, LAC seems like the place to be if I'm him.

1. playing time
2. chance to win
3. weather
4. CP3
5. West is wide open unless you go to the east and join MIA or CHI.

Why is everyone making a big fuss about Kenyon Martin? Did he get younger and better overnight or something?
