So a year ago, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra admitted players were crying in the locker room after a loss to Chicago to offer how much they cared. The idea became another laughtrack of that Heat time people made such a big deal out of it and labeled some of them soft calling it crygate.

Well this time its Derrick Rose who cried because he missed his free throws at the end.

Is this as bad or different and please explain why? Should shaq and other analysts rip Rose a new one for this as well?

Wait, what? Bosh did that after losing the title I believe. To me this one is basically the same as Miami's regular season one last year. If its not the playoffs, then crying at any loss is just plain sad.

LOL @ badluck's reasoning, and Cal is right on the money... But NO, nobody will rip Rose a new one because he is the NBA's poster child these days and the Bulls aren't hated

End of discussion and thread I guess

Wait are we talking about when Bosh cried in the finals or when they lost like their fifth straight or something during the season?

Personally, I didn't really think it was a big deal when he cried in the finals. Showed he cared if anything.

And forgive me, but I will question the descriptions from "sun-sentinel" until I see this pop out from other sources NOT from Miami.

If that's "crying," then sun-sentinel is trying a little too hard these days.

There's a huge difference. Last year, James, Wade, and Bosh stacked the deck in the Heat's favor. People saw this as weak and it was what was behind much of the ridicule. In contrast, Rose refuses to recruit.

Then they celebrated titles when they had won none. The Bulls haven't done anything close to this.

I could probably go on.

But no, they're not remotely close to the same. If Bosh would have stayed in Toronto and cried after losing a close game, people wouldnt have batted an eye.

To make simple comparisons while ignoring context is something that stupid people do.

While i see what your trying to say its two different subjects. Were talking about crying here which is what they were being ridiculed ofr in that instance. Yes i know they were rediculed for a lot of things but THIS particular incident was for crying nothing more. Which is why i say its crygate II. If i had said why were the HEAT rediculed in general while the bulls arent at all you would have a much more valid argument. But this is about crying in general they were being made fun of for crying for the SAME reason against the SAME team.

To try to justify a particular incident you cirticized another team for doing is something that bias and ignorant people do. (that was easy)

Hate to break the news to folks but no matter how much you try to spin it, people WON'T make fun of Rose for this. The NBA circles consider him as a player with heart and a competitive fire. Unfortunately they will forever make fun of Bosh and his tears. Just the way it is.

If it is revealed that Rose was crying after the loss to the Heat then he should persecuted to the same extent Bosh was last year.

Edit- After reading Jolly Fats response, he's right, if Bosh was in Rose's situation and Rose's mentality in Toronto than he would not have been ridiculed.

No, we're talking about stacking the deck in your favor and having a celebration in advance of accomplishing anything and then crying because things didn't go your way.

Context is a ball and chain that is tethered to what happened last year. This is what makes the two situations totally different. It's not simply "crying" (if you can even call it that). It's all the other stuff they did AND THEN crying when things didn't go their way.

he clearly wasn't 'crying' IMO... it's too bad there was no video evidence of what happened in the miami locker room last year, all we have is spo's comments (which is on video, btw)... the suggestive word of 'crying' gives each individual a different interpretation of what happened... if spo said 'emotional' instead of 'crying' last year, these two could situations could be very comparable... but, as i said, IMO drose was not 'crying', but ignorance is bliss, and everything posted on the net is true...

It's the samething yes but not the same reasons for hate... Derek was never arrogant enough to celebrate before doing anything and to my knowledge no one hates him like the heat (except for heat fans... zing!). He wants to win and is humble about it but going to Bosh as a heat hater I like him the most because he is a class act on that team not a douche like Lebron and Wade making fun of superstars or dissing the NBA fans.

I thought and still think the kid has heart and wants to win and I think the same about Rose. When I look at Lebron he just expects to win instead of that desire or hunger to want it. Bosh and the heat team were dissed because they were arrogant and that is not Derek Rose.

This is stupid. If a 90% free throw shooter quietly misses a free throw, no one will make fun of him--he's a 90% free throw shooter. But if the 90% free throw shooter brags about never missing and then misses one, there will be people making fun of him.

This is how stuff like this works when you bring it on yourself.

I understand all of that...but that has nothing to do with the question here. If Lebron came out and said I dont cry...and then he cried...that would be analogous to your example.

I fail to see how anything Lebron did would prevent him from being emotional however. How does acting like a douche prevent him from being able to care about the game?

its funny how the non athletes make fun of those who they wish they could be or secretly admire.I like heart I like fire in a player.I don't mind crying in an epic battle...that's why I still wish chicago would've said screw wade and james and got bosh.HEART.the alternative is flashy ness.Heart stays even after you can't battle anymore, flash is just as it name states.Rose will become better..trust

oh how quickly people forget what the heat did to boston and chicago in the playoffs...and how quickly people forget how atrocious rose was in the 4th quarter.

wait, so the heat didn't choke then??? i must have seen something different...

the comment was regarding the irony of heat fans making fun of chokers... no one is arguing the fact that rose choked last year, and that he choked at the end of this game... are you imagining these things???

It must be some kind of new fad I am unaware of to ignore 8 years of history and all the stats

8 years of history??? what has it amounted to? stats don't win championships... but have fun with your 8 years of historic stats!!!!

and base a guys legacy on one finals series...

Again, I don't care one way or the other. I didn't care when Bosh cried and actually then respected him a bit more, since that's the first time I truly realized he might give a ****, unlike the impressions he gave when he "sat" out during his days in Toronto or the whole "chill"comment.

All I'm saying is based on this report, he mentioned that Rose cried during that interview, which as the video shows, is obviously false.

Could there been other moments? Sure. Like I said, it isn't a big deal to me one way or another.

Michael ****ing Jordan was sobbing like a little girl when he finally won his first ring. Anyone who makes fun of players for crying, especially in such emotional atmospheres, clearly are still in elementary school.

It's not like the Bulls were up 15 to 20 points. It was a comeback attempt on the road that fell just short. Rose did all he could to bring them back, missed 2 freethrows, Lebron missed 2 in the 4th qtr as well.

Maybe spend less time caring about the Bulls and enjoy your team? Maybe they won't/didn't "rip" him because the Miami paper is looking for a story.

And gee wouldn't you know, what a better story then Rose allegedly crying after a regular season loss. Sour grapes maybe? And they're just looking for the slightest thing to go after even though actual proof suggests otherwise. But as usual, Heat fans ignore that.

Yup Rose cried, we suck, you'll win the Nba championship. Happy now?

I understand all of that...but that has nothing to do with the question here. If Lebron came out and said I dont cry...and then he cried...that would be analogous to your example.

I fail to see how anything Lebron did would prevent him from being emotional however. How does acting like a douche prevent him from being able to care about the game?

You have created a double standard out of disdain and nothing more.

You make absolutely no sense. And if you actually did "understand all of that" then you wouldn't be so far gone in your response. It undermines any claim that you "understand all of that".

In the 1st 15 seconds of the video the announcer says "These 3 kings came here to win championships not 1 CHAMPIONSHIPS" then Lebron says "not 1 not 2 not 3 not 4 and so on" sounds like he said he would do it to me.

Does that make you a ******? Cause it sounds like he gauranteed it to me! Did you even watch the video?!?

You made a good point though I think :S

He never guaranteed anything. I know I'm the lone sensible Heat fan on PSD, so try to reason with me.

Admit it, this thing was way overblown because everyone was so frustrated and sensitive about the situation at the time. This upset all the wrong people:

New York fans thought they were gonna get LBJ
Chicago fans thought they were gonna get LBJ
Boston fans knew this made us better than them
Los Angeles fans knew this made us better than them
Small Market fans got pissed because they felt Cleveland got screwed (forgetting that Miami has always been a small market).

The reality is that everyone was pissed, and then they had to see the team celebrating what they'd accomplished and it felt like it was rubbed in everyone's faces. Everyone knew that the Heat did what they did so they could build a dynasty - people just didn't want to hear it.

I hate the idea of Tom Brady winning another SB. He's my rival. So I don't have the TV on this week. I don't want it rubbed in my face.

That's what the special did. But people don't like admitting that we are all actually that petty. We don't like being petty, so we pretend we aren't, and we put up false pretenses to cover up our pettiness - even though we are all that petty at times. It is human nature.

So the whole thing went down and people started talking about "they acted like they'd already won when they hadn't won anything". And "they guaranteed multiple championships."

They didn't guarantee anything. LeBron said the following:

(1) We came here to win "not 1, not 2, not 3, not..." Meaning, we came here to win, and to do so for a long time. He also cheesed it for the fans.

(2) He did say it'd be "easy" - and that was wrong.

But the fact is he never guaranteed anything. He never acted like they already won. He said they'd work hard, put in the practice, and they came together to win multiple championships with no end in sight.

Nothing wrong with that. Everyone knows that. The fact is no one wanted to hear it, and no one wanted it on TV in their face. It was all blown out of proportion, people overreacted, people brought out the worst in themselves for over a year...

can we move on?

I must say man, looking at your posts and threads from the past, you've contributed a lot to this whole Bulls-Heat PSD issue since the beginning.

No I haven't. Like what?

Are you confusing me with Wade>You?

lol are you listening to the whole thing and not using your negatively biased selective hearing?

literally after he says he's not just blowing smoke at the fans he says "we believe if we work hard and challenge each other we believe we can win multiple championships"...never a mention of a guarantee, he's just trying to get everyone fired up, it was essentially a pep rally and that was for the heat fans, but it's not heat fans getting bent out of shape about it, it's jealous petulant fans

He did say "it's gon' be easy". Such an idiot.

what if LeBron stopped after saying not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4? not much would of been made of it...it's because he went beyond 6 that riled everyone up

I wish ESPN wouldn't have put the damn thing on TV. That's what people were so pissed about. That's ESPN's fault, not Miami's.

You're right, it's not Miami's fault. It's LeBron and his reps fault.

Reading Bulls and Heat fans go at each other is so hilarious. Honestly, PSD would be boring if this rivalry didn't exist.

I am going to go ahead and close this baitfest now, before infractions and bans need to be handed out.
