I know he has an issue on the idea of him coming off the bench in the NBA which is why he's gone to China for the last 3 seasons.

Hes averaging 25 PPG and 7 APG in China right now at 34.

From the pictures & highlights of his CBA games, he looks like hes in much better shape than he was in Boston and he's still always had a nice game.

As a backup PG, could he still play in the NBA?

Yes, he could play. If scrub chuckers with no defense, passing, or shooting like Jannero Pargo can keep getting teams to sign him, then yes, Marbury could play, and I'd bet he's 10x better than him.

Nope.

At age 31, he played in 28 games for the Boston Celtics, averaging 18 minutes per game.

In those 18 minutes, he averaged 3 points, 3 assists, 1.5 turnovers on 34% shooting from the field and 24% shooting from 3.

There's nothing that makes me believe Marbury, now 3 years older, will suddenly be better than that.

Those 28 games were his first time back on the court in a few years. He was definitely rusty as hell. I didn't realize he was almost 35 though.

I guarantee you he could get 10 and 5 easy in about 12 mins a game.

He was admittedly out of basketball shape due to his injuries and then the wait between the Knicks negotiating his buyout. He did step up in the Playoffs after getting more confident and in better shape.

Hes played now 2 1/2 years in China since then.

Obviously Marbury would be in better shape than his last stint in Boston.
