Which players, past or present, could have accomplished more than they did if they had the work ethic equivalent to MJ/Kobe??

I have some players in mind but I want to hear from other first. It would be nice to hear of some old schoolers

Shaq, granted he was one of the most dominant players in the league, but with great work ethic, he could've been GOAT.

Tracy McGrady. Noone can tell me that his ceiling wasn't the highest of any player. Had his work ethic been a lot better he would've prevented most if not all his injuries and we would be hear right now discussing how he and Kobe are the best players in the NBA

Rasheed Wallace would have been pretty much unstoppable.

And as much as it pains me to drop his name, Allen Iverson would have been even better with the same kind of work ethic as Jordan. In my honest opinion he's the most naturally gifted basketball player I've ever seen but his work ethic wasn't always the best. He always gave it his all on the court though, he was a real warrior but he never seemed to think that he needed to get better. However, I must point out that his work ethic wasn't lousy at all but could have been better.

Shawn Kemp could have been much better as well.

agreed. if his work ethic was on par with Jordan, and he raised his FT% to above 65%, I think he would have gone down as the GOAT, and I think he would have won 2-4 more titles.

Most def Tracy McGrady could have been one of the greats!!!! Offensively at least. The dude even admitted to taking days/games off. This coupled with injuries made him a flash in the pan

Shaq, granted he was one of the most dominant players in the league, but with great work ethic, he could've been GOAT.

this is the first thing that came to mind. Shaq never really made the adjustments as far as free throw shooting, and he did alot of extra-cirricular activities (rap, acting, tv shows, etc.) that could have been better used if he worked on the little things in his game. He would have been the GOAT no doubt

Anyone with the work ethic similar to kobe and MJ would be in the nba. Every single person who worked on their game as much as MJ and kobe would all be in the NBA

I think this question is hard to answer after reading some of the names you cats posted. Hard because no one TRULY knows the level of effort some of the guys put forth, except the "documented" reports of a pencil pusher.

Some of the guys just might be that stupid, and don't clearly understand professional work ethic. You have to remember, the majority of these players were treated like F'ing kings since they were kids. And being the dominate talent since you were a kid sometimes means you don't need effort to beat folks.

How about players that could have been great if they had some heart. And FYI, a lot of those players would have never been close to great with more effort or heart. Spreewell, JR Rider, Brown, etc.... ehhhhhh back to work.

3 words....

Vincent Lemar Carter.

All the god given talent in the world but such a terrible work ethic... He was so bad that Charles Oakley called Carter a bum when it came to his work ethic when they both played for Toronto.

Shaq had more work ethic than all the players you listed.

Anyone who is listing superstars is a moron, may as well list every player to ever play. Lets start with Larry Bird and Bill Russel.

Guys like VC, Tmac put alot of work into their games, thats why they got the skills/iq they do, I mean how do you win most improved player of the year without putting in work.
