According to Yahoo! Sports, the Hornets brass has been given clearance to make a four-year contract extension offer to injured guard Eric Gordon.
Gordon's knee injury will reportedly keep him out at least another three weeks, so it remains to be seen if they want to give the oft-injured guard this kind of deal. David Stern has been catching some heat about Gordon's extension, as the NBA owns the team, but it appears that he has removed himself from the process, putting it in the hands of Hugh Weber and Dell Demps. Stay tuned. Jan 25 - 1:15 AM

Damn, Gordon's still gonna be sidelined for another three weeks? That sucks. Anybody know approximately how much Hornets are gonna offer him? I remember his agent wanted somewhere around 18 million.

Either way, it's crucial that NO gets Gordon inked to an extension.

As long as this gets done, then they officially don't lose in that trade. Clippers still win it, but keeping Gordon is a major win.

That's BS. Stern can remove himself from this process but couldn't do that in the trades for Paul

team want him, but the number of teams that want him will go down a lot if he wants 15 mill a year.

Is gordan really that good ?

He can be.

The best course of action IMO is to offer him a solid 4 year 44-48million extention. Hopefully he takes it if not wait and let him test the free agency market.

David Stern should become a full-time NBA GM.

Not if it's a bad contract we don't. I really want to keep Gordon, but as a small market/revenue team we have to be fiscally responsible as well. Giving a four year 56-62 million dollar deal to a guy who's not even a top 25 player yet and is often injuried just isn't smart IMO.

He is not someone I'd offer anywhere near a max... He hasn't proven he can be a super star yet... He also hasn't also proven he can stay healthy I'd offer 4 years for 42 or something like that.

What are y'all talking about?

If Gallo got about 11 mil a year, Gordon deserves atleast 13 mil a year

Dude is a beast. Also the 4th best SG in the league
