According to Mark Jackson...

Question: Somebody asked me the other day about you and I said that reality might be setting in with this team, that you might be realizing this team isn’t as good as you thought. Would that be incorrect?

Jackson: I guess you lied to them. … What is reality?

Question: That this team isn’t as good as you thought … That this team can’t be as good as you thought.

Jackson: No, that’s not true. In my opinion we have the best backcourt in the business, we have an all-star caliber power forward, we have solid role players, and we are a defensive-minded basketball team. We are grinding and we’ve been in position to win in eight of our 10 losses and we’ve beaten some of the best in the land. The reality is that we’re very close to being who I am convinced we are. Tell your friend I said ‘hi.’ … You are trying today.

Question: Not at all, let’s cut to the chase. You’ve been optimistic about this team but you’re 5-10. This is a region that has seen it and heard it all before and you talking like this is like a salmon swimming upstream. You’re fighting conventional wisdom. Some fans are saying this is no different than before.

Jackson: I haven’t heard a fan say it’s no different. Clearly, it’s different. Clearly it’s different.

well I think the "Warriros" have a good backcourt, obviously not the best .. what do you expect a head coach to say though?

more like a good offensive backcourt but terrible defensively

sometimes i forget about alot of teams in players, unless i'm reminded again. Sorry. But how do you guys feel are the best? The clips? I would take the warriors backcourt over them

Warriors have lost so many games that they were leading in and were in the whole game. If this team could close it out, theyd be 8-7 or 9-6. Just havent been able to finish

What else would you expect their coach to say?

They are still an offensive team, he was lying in the interview.

If Curry can stay healthy, well then I would have to agree with Jackson.. and if they aren't the best, they're the most exciting for sure. Hands down my favorite BC to watch, and Curry and Ellis is personally 2 of my favorite players in the league. I don't see this being an outlandish statement, at all.

Monta is beast
01-23-2012, 07:50 PM
If Curry and Brown had been able to stay healthy to this point in the season, and the referees didn't screw us out of two games, I wouldn't be surprised if we were 10-5. We just haven't had any luck at all this season.

Well they're in last place in their division so who gives a **** if they have the best backcourt in the league? What's the difference? They certainly aren't winning games because of this amazing backcourt.

If he said the most talented backcourt then he might be able to make a case, but not the best. The fact is Curry and Ellis are too similar. They are each very talented in their own right, but just don't mesh well for a team together.

I have no idea what you just said. Translation anyone?

I'd probably go TP-Manu, maybe Rondo-Allen or Paul-Billups. And Rose-Hamilton, Lowry-Martin, and Nelson-Richardson are all solid too.

Russell Westbrook-James Harden is a pretty good combo.

Here you go again. Every single thread mentioning Monta, you are the first person there to call him a ball hog or whatever else you got. Its almost like a personal vendetta. Seriously, wtf?

Its a team sport and Its another injury riddled year. :pity: The centers are ******. The bench is average. Dorell Wright is almost trying to get on W's fans' nerves by being a ****** shooter. Curry has glass ankles. The only players keeping this team afloat are Lee and Monta.

Also, Mark Jackson is in way over his head. He destroyed the team's offense in name of defense which he barely improved and now he thinks we can still make playoffs. He is Mike Singletary Jr.

Obviously the Kings backcourt is the best. Mark Jackson needs to go on PSD more. I've seen so much proof that support that claim.

Not even close.

Rose/Hamilton better
Alen/Rondo better
Chalmers/Wade better
Kobe/Fisher better
Lawson/Affalo better
Paul/Billups better

and any combo Portland puts out there is better too.

Russell Westbrook and James Harden? I know Harden doesn't start, but he plays starter minutes. Both are good defenders. I would rather have those two. This is just one I haven't seen people mention there are others I would prefer. Kyle Lowry and Kevin Martin is another pair I haven't seen mentioned.

They do have a talented back court but I wouldn't say they have the best back court in the NBA. The other thing that has to be considered is Stephen Curry's absence from the team for his ankle issues that he has been battling didn't and doesn't help the team.

Mr_Amaziing
01-24-2012, 12:44 AM
They have a good offensive back court but their defense isn't that good.

I would go with Westbrook and Harden

01-24-2012, 01:26 AM
Well if we were including the bench too the warriors have an even better case.

PG: Stephen Curry, Nate Robinson, Charles Jenkins
SG: Monta Ellis, Brandon Rush, Klay Thompson

And.........they won't make the playoffs again.

Oh man somebody bring up the thread where i argued that the Warriors backcourt wasn't that best, where you are Warrior fans now? I told you all that they very good offensively but they will keep losing games because teams come back on them because it is a FLAWED backcourt, they have noone who can defend big shooting guards and they get killed.

Just like how the Kings backcourt is flawed in that they have noone who can move the ball, just all playmakers, especially fredette who wants to be but cant get shots to keep going down.

Shammyguy3
01-24-2012, 03:27 AM
Moving the ball is part of being a playmaker

Eh, probably should of just said scorer.

Confusious
01-24-2012, 07:16 AM
I would rate the Warriors backcourt the same as their current standings. Ellis is an idiot, and of course he will put up points because there isn't anybody else on that goddamn team that can score, and Curry is literally a pubescent little runt that belongs on a high school team.

xxplayerxx23
01-24-2012, 09:11 AM
I would put them top 3 or 4

abe_froman
01-24-2012, 09:28 AM
(in no order)some that are better:

rondo/allen
westbrook/harden
rose/hamilton
tp/manu(when healthy)
lowry/martin
cp3/billups

Daunter
01-24-2012, 11:53 AM
To me Lowry and Martin are the best right now
