USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo released the list of 20 players who will vie to make the 2012 Olympic team, and the group did not include Rajon Rondo. It may be a message to the Celtics point guard, who dropped out of the World Championship club last summer and said he really didnít enjoy the experience. It didnít help that Rondoís lack of perimeter shooting was frowned upon by coach Mike Krzyzewski, and he was passed over for Rose, Deron Williams, and Chauncey Billups. But it seems odd that he wonít be given the opportunity to at least try out for the team, since he is considered among the top five NBA point guards.

He bailed on them. Why would that be odd that they passed on him? :laugh2:

He should be given a chance.. just because he bailed on them before doesn't mean he should be banned from it.

There's a big difference between and bailing and leaving the team before you get cut. He was getting absolutely no burn because his jumper was broke and the handwritting was on the wall.

He just left first to save face and came up with some bs excuse, its not like he just didn't feel like playing.

Rondo's style of play doesn't translate to the FIBA game. He is a PG who can't shoot, or hit free throws, and with the traditional American offense, you need PG's who can hit their damn free throws and make 21 footers consistently.

He was just not a good fit amongst the better players in the NBA.

We've discussed this, at length, in two other threads.
