Stepping aside from the Knicks trashing, Kevin Love ***-kissing, and the Dwight trading let's look at the most overlooked player in the league right now

Milly!

Look at these matchups against the "elite" PFs in the west in the past 10 days
Paul Millsap: 14-24 FG, 29 pts, 9 rbs
Pau Gasol: 5-14 FG, 14 pts, 11 rbs

Paul Millsap: 7-11 FG, 20 pts, 6 rbs
Blake Griffin: 5-12 FG, 10 pts, 11 rbs

Paul Millsap: 6-16 FG, 16 pts, 13 rbs
Dirk: 5-12 FG, 12 pts, 5 rbs

Paul Millsap 12-19 FG, 26 pts, 12 rbs
Nene 6-15 FG, 18 pts, 6 rbs

Paul Millsap: 12/18 FG, 26 pts, 9 rbs
Kevin Love: 5/21 FG, 15 pts, 8 rbs

Where is the love? Millsap started the season playing under 25 minutes to get more of Favors in the rotation. Now that he's finally getting his deserved 30+ minutes he's tearing it up. He's 2nd in the league in PER (behin Lebron) and 3rd in WS/48.

Carried Utah to the 3rd best record in the crowded West

Appreciate Milly  :worthy:

And that's why the Lakers should offer the TPE for him.

Being a season ticket holder I would say that millsap is playing the best ball he has ever played!
But he does have wholes in his game.

did you really say hes underrated based on the last 10 days? lol

either way I think hes known around the league. Everyone also knows hes going to be moved soon so its like a contract year for him

whoever does these "ratings". must really be quite bad, as all I see on PSD are threads about how he undervalues everyone.

Yeah I don't think so.

Millsap is great. I wanted the Nugs to go after him, but he unfortunately stayed put. Northwest Division arguably the best in the NBA and he's representing it well.

thats what happens when you are much shorter and quicker than the pf that is deffending you.

why would the jazz move him?

Bcuz they have Favors. Kanter and Favors are the teams future, near future I would imagine. Milsap and Big Al shouldnt be around much longer

How is being shorter in any way an advantage?

And Devin Harris is much quicker than most of the guards he faces, and he's garbage. Your Croon logic, is again flawed.

Millsap has been underrated for years. It's amazing how he doesn't get the love. But I'm going to have to disagree with the Jazz fans' poll last night that said he was the best PF in the league.

well yeah, they always throw a Jazz guy in there who wins the vote. The other night they voted that Jeremy Evans was the best dunker in the league.

I'm just happy you didn't say he dominated those guys :laugh2:

Either way Millsap has always been a hot start and as the season progresses he even's himself out. I think we're going to see exactly that this season. He'll end up being around the end or just outside of the top 10 PFs by seasons end.

He's solid both ways, extremely efficient and a has a good IQ for the game added to that he's shooting 50% from 16-23 that equates to one of the best mid range games among all PFs but I'd like to see him sustain a high level of play such as this before I rate him very highly.

Millsap is 26, not 36. Why can't he be part of the future?

and both are still 1-2 years from any kind of serious starting ability

Crooner mis-stated the advantage: Millsap is far quicker and more mobile than most other PFs which is advantageous when you play next to Big Al.

He has a very nice jumper though too. I've always liked him but would never go crazy for him.

Because I want to see Favors get 36 mnutes! Ha ha

I was just kidding. Love came in second but that's the other PF who was playing.

I hope we get a decent dunk contest this year, but Blake "wonder boy" will be back so who knows what crap the NBA pulls :bs:

so do I! Thats the conundrum for the Jazz. Everyone wants to see Millsap in a Jazz jersey for the rest of his career, but everyone also wants Favors to get more minutes and become the next big thing. Thats why, for me, Jefferson is the odd man out, but even I must admit he has improved. Jefferson has sacraficed his stats for the team a little bit this season, started to pass more and has improved (slightly) on D. Before the season I was all for trading him for a wing, but he's made it harder. I don't think we trade anyone this season, but in the summer, decisions will have to be made when Kanter can handle more minutes.

Never. Everyone knows how good he is.

The most underrated would be Andre Miller. No matter what team he goes to he finds a way to play his game and stabilize the team, regardless of if he starts or comes off the bench.

Bcuz when you give up Deron Williams to bring in Favors you have to give Favors his chance. Milsap should be able to get the Jazz some good pieces or picks. You dont trade for the 3rd overall pick in 2010 and bring off the bench for too long. I dont really follow the Jazz but if I was a fan I wold want to see Favors play often considering they gave up D-Will for him

there were fools in the NBA forum that were saying he was overrated in the off-season. I don't see any of them in this thread right now. I'd love this guy on the Raptors.

So awesome to see Milly getting the recognition he truly deserves! Jazz fans have seen this for years, so its awesome to see him being recognized by the national media.

Millsap is the real deal - my vote for most underrated. And so is the whole Utah team after a slow start. This team is a small piece or two from DOMINATING with Millsap as a key piece.

I'm a Denver fan and do not want to see these guys any time soon.
