He has no moves and looks as stiff as a board. He will be a d-league player at best if he even makes it to the NBA.

Every year another name pops up on the internet with great promise that almost never pans out. Let's hope this one does.

kids 18, he had better not be iin 10th grade! Usually, at this size this early, they are at a huge disadvantage, because they do not have to develop skill, as evidenced by his lack of vertical, and his poor effort on both ends. Too bad he isnt playing in a better league at this point.

He is 18???? He is huge, but by the video you couldnt see if he had any skill he seems fragil, I would throw him around, he needs some fire, he showed no effort, Id make him show effort thats the type a guy i would guard and get in his head,

Idk he just screams injury risk but he very well could dominate if he gets to the next level.

If I was his coach, friend or whatever, I would tell him to hit the gym and get stronger ASAP! If the guy wants to play in the NBA, he will need to get a lot more stronger and healthier.

It looks like he needs a lot of work, but he has very unique physical gifts, and if he gets into the right college program, he could really grow as a player. In the short videos they showed though, he seemed to have a probkem getting up and down the court (very slow) and when that one rebound came to him, he almost lost it fo a kid that was 2 feet shorter than him. With the right coaching, mentoring and work ethic, this kid could be something very special, and in a worse case scenario, he could still earn a roster spot in the NBA. I mean look at Manute Bol. He stayed in the league for years. And team would take a gamble on him in the draft. Teams always take gambles on big men (Shawn Bradley, Yinka Dare, the Candy Man, Kwambe Brown, ect), with the hopes of landing the next Hakeem or Dwight.

Wow the kids in high school and he's a kid...

If your 7'5" and healthy your pretty much guaranteed into the NBA if not a starting position.

Read it over, Lets not start this in here, but I was saying if you complain about melo not winning it all and say he isnt a superstar because of that fact then how is anybody that didnt win a superstar?

I'm complaining that he only got out of the first round once, doesn't make his teammates better and can't play defense, but is magically considered a superstar.if he got an MVP award nd went to the conference finals s few times, then sure, I'd consider him one,but he hadn't done anything over his entire career

No way this kid will be able to stay healthy long enough to really do much past high school

THE MTL
01-22-2012, 04:24 PM
Thats honestly not fair for anyone involved (including him). He is so tall that he cannot develop his skills. The ball doesnt get that high with those kids that he doesnt even jump for rebounds.

Hawkeye15
01-22-2012, 08:16 PM
will his body hold up though? That is always the question when one of these ridiculously tall guys comes along. The NBA moves sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiightly faster then 10th grade ball does.
