Mcgee is known for attempting crazy type dunks in the middle of games. I personally don't mind this show-off type stuff, but I know that it pisses off other athletes, analysts, and some fans of the game. I liked it.

That is some All Star game type **** right there. But I don't mind it. He plays for the Wizards, he has to have fun somehow.

Its not any different than a Windmill or any other type of fancy dunk. But I don't understand why he would even attempt this in a close game; all you have to know about him.

If his team was 11-1 and crushing a team its fair game all day...the fact that his team is 1-11 and they were losing at the time of the dunk makes is foul play to the max

lol gotta love McGee....

but this is why the Wizards suck.

They gotta take the game more seriously if they want to win games, cause right now they are a mess.

It's really no big deal at all. The games are 48 minutes and if the players are upset in any way, go defend his ***. IMO on a breakaway like that you should be entitled to do w/e the hell you want, unless its like a 720 under the legs dunk with a high risk of injury.

yea, but guys know that windmills are the easiest fancy dunk to complete. Like i remember Wade getting pissed at Smoove a couple years ago for trying a thru the legs dunk when they were blowing the Heat out. And I remember ppl gettin pissed for Ricky Davis trying it several years ago. I personally enjoy that stuff though.

rule question: why is tossing it against the backboard and dunking it legal, but tossing it in the air and then dunking it not?

I enjoyed it, they have to get the fans in it somehow. I'm not even going to go on how bad this team is. I just think its stupid that he got benched for that dunk.

honestly I don't have any strong feelings for this

on one hand its cool and I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often in this league tbh

but

on the other hand the wizards do suck and this did come from a player who only cares about showing off obviously

lkingratedr
01-17-2012, 06:22 PM
man let javale be javale he puts butts in seats he knows he physically gifted a good player and he tried to do something to get the crowd in it personally if i was the coach i would have rode the momentum and energy that dunk brought

mvb815
01-17-2012, 06:38 PM
i think it counts as a missed shot and an offensive putback, which means his teammate wouldn't get the assist, which leads to chemistry issues, which leads to gilbert arenas pulling guns out

do a windmill if you want to show off

JayW_1023

Not as stupid as his triple double a year ago. That was embarrassing because he was celebrating while his team was losing.

I can't say for certain but the ball is always has to hit an object before that same player can have another possession like when the ball hits the backboard or rim on shot attempts (or dunk attempts) or even bouncing it off of Lebron James's face... lol... but you can't throw a direct pass to yourself.

this is way foul
i cant believe some of you guys dont care

showboating on a 1-12 team while your down in the 3rd quarter? cmon man

but the Wiz have been known for doing stuff like this
javale and blatche's triple doubles were a disaster
javale doing a FT line dunk while he's getting blown out and now this

they need a culture change badly

here is blatche's triple double

The clowns on PTI are calling for the coach to be fired after this

I don't have any problem with it. It's not even showboating, it's just him having fun and putting on a show. Whatever.

Showboating is showboating, whether you're on a winning team or not. LeBron does 2 or 3 of these a year, yet I've never seen anyone make a thread about that. It's just a bit more enjoyment for the fans, especially when the Wiz are as bad as they are. I see no issue with that.

JasonJohnHorn
01-17-2012, 06:50 PM
That is a stat stuffing play. He should get an offensive rebound, assist and FG for that play. lol

Great show for the fans, and when you are piling up as many losses as the Wiz are, you gotta give the fans something to cheer about.

Squad13

Tells what type of coach they have, and how much of a dumb *** Mcgee is. Jerry Sloan would bench him for a month.

The play was fine he made the dunk but if he missed it's a whole other story and he looks like a fool but he made it at home entertaining the fans so no harm done.

lebron doesnt throw the ball off the backboard for an oop when he's losing
he also doesnt try a ft line dunk when he's getting blown out

it just looks bad to be losing, to have an open dunk, and they to try something so risky when you're already a terrible team and need all the points you can get so you can win some ball games

just dumb

The reason we watch the NBA and not some local rec/pick up game is because these guys can do these type of things with ease. We watch to be entertained. It was entertaining completely fair.

And like somebody said showboating is showboating whether your record is 82-0 or 0-82 or your up 50 points or down 50 points.

blah blah blah. If you dont want a guy to do this against your team I reccomend two things:

1. take care of the ball
2. run back on defense after you turn it over

If you dont even both to hustle back on defense you deserve to have your face rubbed in it.

that's not even it, since he could've been cherry picking.

up 50 points or down 50 points, 1st place or last place in the division, it doesn't matter.
he had a chance to pull it off, it looked great, the crowd loved it, and he made sportscenter.
