View Full Version : Why does Andrew Bynum get MUCH more hate then wade about being injury prone?

A ton of people make it seem like Andrew Bynum can't even get through warm ups without being hurt. It is true that he gets injured often but some of the injuries weren't even his fault! Anyways, lately Dwayne wade has been getting injured and he certainly has a bunch in the past. How come no not many people criticize Wade as much as they criticize Bynum?

I think it's because the superstardom and the fact that Wade already led a team to a championship with a finals MVP. Heat fans don't have to rave about D-Wade, but Lakers fans always have to make a hyped up case for Bynum. That's just the simple truth.

It is because the Lakers can play Gasol at center if Bynum gets injured; there is no replacement for Wade.

so by your logic wade should get more blame for injuries cuz he has no replacement.

Bynums played 65 games or less 4 times in his career and Wades played less than 65 twice while Wades had a longer career so far. So to answer you're question it's because he is more injury prone. Wade can also play through his injuries while Bynum cannot because of their severity.

I don't think Wade is injury prone, I don't think Bynum is really either. Bynum had 2 freak injuries, it was the Zbo injury but way worse, then when jumping he landed really awkwardly on Luke Walton's foot I believe

Wade is still easily more durable than Bynum, and it's not close

because outside Bynum's 2nd season, he has missed a TON of games every year. Remove the 82 game season he played in year 2, and he has played in only 187 of 328 games for his team, and missed playoff games.

Wade has played 547 of 656 regular season games, and been 100% for the last 3 years.

Bynum misses a TON more time than Wade does.

I had no idea that one bad injury and wanting to pace yourself for the playoffs when your team was tired in the finals las year made you injury prone. Anything to compare Bynum to Wade I guess

The more you know.

Last 6 years

Bynum: 46, 82, 35, 50, 65, 54

Wade: 75, 51, 51, 79, 77, 76

Stop complaining. Wade plays way more.

Because Wade's a top 3 player in the league and he isn't nearly as injury-prone as Bynum (who's only played over 60 games in one season in his career)...

when a big man like bynum is getting injured at the rate he is and still so young its not a good sign. bigs are normally less durable since their knees/ankles/feet have to support so much weight. plus just being that tall in the first place is probably unnatural. wades 30 and plays with a reckless style but still is more durable so far.

I mean, I'm not saying that Bynum is better than wade, and I'm not saying that wade deserves more hate about it, and I'm also not saying that wade is more injury prone. I just don't understand why people think that it's a given that Bynum will get hurt and overlook some of wades injuries. Wade is still top three and wade is more durable than Bynum.

Because Bynum missed close to 170 games so far in his career which lasts TWO less years than Wade. While Wade missed only 107 games playing 2 more seasons than Bynum. 62 of Wade's games were due to his shoulder dislocation which could have happened to anyone.

Why is it so tough to understand Lakers fans?

And 4/5 threads have been already made by haters on Wade since last night. Jesus!!

Bynums has played 203 regular season games since the 07-08 season.

Wade's played 241 games since 08-09 season.

Excluding this year, Wade has averaged 68 games per season.

Excluding this year, Bynum has averaged 55 games per season. And that average only gets worse when you exclude the first 2 years of his career due to the fact that he didn't have a major role on the team at the time.

To be fair, some guys did land on Bynum's knee. Could have happened to anyone.

Yeah, but your comparison was horrible. You are talking about a guy who played way more games than Bynum both in regular season and playoffs and led his team to a world championship.

That's true it was a super dick move. But first, he took off his jersey because he didn't deserve to wear it. It's a disiplin thing. (at least that's what I think since that's what my coach makes our team do if someone gets ejected.) and second, Bynum doesn't mock a finals MVP that whipped his teams ***. However, my side of the argument was very weak. You and everyone else are right

Bynum isn't really hated anywhere else besides forums like this. And it is because Lakers fans constantly have to tout how good he is. I dont care how good you are, if you can barely play 60 games a season you will always be tooled on.

You asked a question and I gave you the answer. Bynum will always get so much **** from PSD because of Lakers fans acting like he is the second coming.

Not really sure what you are trying to prove with the Pierce thing there.

And FYI even with Bynum's injuries I would like to have him. He is a good player when he plays, he just has a real hard time staying on the court.
