Now we know who forged Andrew Bynum into the player he has become. Lakers fans can send thank-yous to Kwame Brown.

That's what Brown implied Friday after the Lakers beat Golden State.

First, some reality.

"He's a grown man now," Brown said of his former Lakers teammate. "He's grown into his body well. He's a lot more physical than when he first came in."

Then came the fantasy.

"That was my young fella," Brown said. "I taught him everything he knows."

Followed by a little more fantasy.

"I'm one of the better defenders in the league and we played against each other every day in practice," Brown said. "I told him if you can score against me, you can score on anyone."

Kwame is a great post defender. Saying he made him the player he is was stupid, but going against Kwame in practice would help your post offense.

I think fans forget KB is very good defensively, very physical and very good on the boards....... His offense however is lacking. AB had to learn the offense from KAJ!

Even if he did have a big impact on AB, he shouldn't say it, knowing what the reaction will be.

Well obviously the guy is joking but there is some seriousness to it, Bynum against Kwame a couple days ago who won that battle?

Kwame taught him how to transition to the NBA from HS.

Oh wait you mean Kwame threw out all of his clothes because he didn't know how to do laundry and only ate out?

Well Bynum is ****ed if this is the case

I think Kwame doesn't care about the reaction to be honest. He's dealt with criticism since he was drafted so he's probably used to it. Now no one's going to take him seriously, but hey Kwame don't give a ****.

Kwame Brown is HORRIBLE. First, he is a decent post defender who can hold his own. Basically he doesnt suck at it, but he sucks at everything else including common sense.

That's funny lol If you taught Bynum everything you know, then why do you suck? Bynum is becoming the 2nd option on the Lakers whereas Kwame is playing for his 6th NBA team? lol

He probably had a lot to do with Bynum's development...

Just because someone can't perform in games, doesn't mean they are completely useless. You people act like translating one's game from high school or college to the NBA is a breeze. Kwame had the talent, just couldn't ever figure out how to apply it to his NBA career.

It was a dumb statement no doubt, but he probably helped Bynum more than a lot of you realize.

Completely agree. Also, Kareem deserves a lot of credit as well. He trained with drew for his first 5 years.
