Local 6 Sports Director David Pingalore has learned that Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard may be rethinking his trade request.

In December, Howard told the Magic he would want to be traded to either the New Jersey Nets, Dallas Mavericks or Los Angeles Lakers.

Multiple NBA sources confirmed to Pingalore that Howard has been heavily recruiting New Jersey Nets point guard Deron Williams to play with him in Orlando.

Pingalore has also learned the Magic are trying to trade for Williams.

Pingalore's sources confirmed that Howard would rather stay in Orlando, and the sources said that it's an "80 percent" chance Howard stays.

Yup... this ***** is lying. On a side note, isn't this attempt at collusion obvious? I mean Deron is still technically under contract.

But why exactly would NJ trade with Orlando? Orlando basically has nothing of high value besides Howard (Anderson has to prove himself lol). NJ could wait out the season, then sign him outright.

He does know they don't have room for Williams, and have no assets to obtain him?

Exactly, Orlando doesnt have that option. They dont have the cap room. If Dwight makes it to FA he's a lock to go to the Nets with Deron.

Dwight is really ****ing annoying. Hes so bipolar, regardless if this source is legitimate or not. Jesus just do what you want and stop crying about it, if you wana go to NJ, force your way out and go, if not, deal with whatever is left over.

what about just signing Deron in the offseason. Shouldn't be too difficult with the way the Nets are playing.

They wouldn't have to give up much for him right now considering how bad Deron is playing. Maybe a Ryan Anderson and Jameer Nelson for Deron Williams would work.

If you can't beat em, join em. If you can't join em, then have them join you. That's how the NBA is nowadays.

At this point LA should trade a no heart Gasol and a Hyped Bynum for Howard...

If Dwight were smart he would opt in after this year instead of opting out. Then after next year talk Hedo into opting out and resigning for less and then they lose Jameer and JJ's contracts. Then the can go after Iggy/Ellis/Josh Smith....He is obviously going to opt out, but if he were smart he'd take that modest 19 million dollars and then come 2013 Orlando would only have 25 mil and could sign Ellis and possibly Smith (if Hedo would opt out and come back for cheaper) and then bring Dwight back.

Ellis/J-Rich/Turk/Smith/Dwight...That's not too bad looking

I don't see how Dwight fits under Dallas' salary cap. If they couldn't sign Barea or Chandler, they certainly can't sign Howard. There's no trade with Dallas that would benefit Orlando either.

I don't understand what the source of Dwight's dissatisfaction is: Orlando is a perennial playoff team and contender, seemingly just a role player or two away from a legit championship run. It would seem wiser to stay and to "recruit" another great player and get a max deal.

The only logical explanation for all of this back and forth is that Dwight is jealous of the attention that Carmelo and LeBron received as they managed to leverage trades to big markets with another superstar AND sign near max deals.

Dallas could've resigned both Chandler and Barea, they just preferred to save their money and try for Dwight and Deron next summer. Kidd and Odom come off the books in the summer and they'll have plenty of cap room to seek both.

And Dwight isn't jealous if anyone. That's not a logical explanation at all. The truth is he wants to win and do so in a big market. That's what he's been telling everyone.

He doesnt. That why he wants to go to NJ, because its the only team with room for him and Deron + fillers and an MLE.

According to Otis Smith himself. Nothing has changed on the Dwight situation.

I was under the impression that Dallas will have room for one max in the offseason, but would need to get rid of a couple of contracts if they want two max players.

Rethinking would suggest there was an original thinking process on Dwight's part.

Thus far, there is nothing that would suggest to me that Dwight was capable of original thought.

This guys wants so much attention and it seems that Dwight is an attention whore who wants people always talk about him like a little jealous kid who makes sure that he is always centre of attention all the time.
