I don't know if he will ever buy the team, but it's great to hear about a former player doing so well for himself after his basketball career. You get so used to hearing about guys squandering their money or beating their wives or getting into drugs. Mashburn should be a roll model for the young guys in the league. Hopefully he gets into an ownership roll.

I doubt that guy has 300+ million dollars. you actually have to show the league that you have more then asking price of the team. you have to have extra resources in case the team does not make money that year.

Mashburn probably has a few investors.

Very impressive. Thought he would have been a guy that would have blown all of his money already. Good to see him be successful in his businesses. He obviously would have to get a group together to buy it because he doesn't have a couple hundred million dollars or whatever it would take to buy it by himself.

Don't waste your money on the Hornets, let them fold.
The league needs them to fold.
Followed by several other teams.

Yep, sometimes i wonder how stupid have these players to be.

Simply put.

Your Late first rounder 4 year contract gives you ENOUGH money to start / buy several bussines and work from there.

With that 2 or 3 million Initial invest, if done correctly and caring for your money so intermidiate persons dont rob you you are on track to become a billionarie step by step.

But instead half of them aere broke 2 years out of the legaue.

who cares. some ppl are businessmen and some ppl are simply consumers. you cant expect every one to be savvy with money or every one would be rich.

Could be a great move for the Hornets, as long as Mashburn has the money to manage it. It's one thing to buy it, it's another to operate it. Don't need another lockout.

You need an initial invest to be rich.

With current workers salarys is very difficutl to get to that initial invest becaus eyou are needing to use most of your salary on feeding, paying taxes and renting( or buyinh) your home.

Then even if you manage to somehow save enough to start your first bussines you will deppend heavily on luck so that first bussines goes smooth an allows you enough benefit to start another.

Player of course dont have this problem because their very first pay check allows them to open more than one bussines, so at least one of them works.

He doesn't have enough money to buy them, probably not even close. He just wants to be part of an ownership group.
