how do you think the clippers would look if they never traded their first round pick to cle?

maybe they draft tristian thompson instead.

they wouldn't have had the cap for Jordan and Gordon.

they would have amnestied baron davis no doubt, but they couldn't predict that rule would come into place

Man, that team would be awesome to watch.

Kyrie Irving
Eric Gordon
Caron Butler (they'd have the room I assume)
Blake Griffin
DeAndre Jordan

with Williams, Foye, Aminu, Kaman off the bench.

It's hard to say. I'm not sure if Sterling would have used Amnesty on Baron Davis, you have to remember we'd have him too. I think if we got Irving we could have kept Gordon. That's for sure.

Probably, I bet Paul would look better than Kyrie naked in the showers.

Yeah I think so. It probably would've been Irving, Minny's pick, Aminu and Kaman for Paul.

they would have kept davis and drafted derrick williams instead of irving. They also would have had capspace to signed some better bench players (chuck hayes for example)
Davis/Bledsoe
Gordon/Gomes
Williams/Aminu
Griffin/Hayes
Jordan/Kaman/Hayes

Not to mention they still would have that minny pick for the 2013 season. Could have been the deepest team in the NBA next season if they didnt do that trade.

they would have never got the first pick if they kept it. stern worked the system against us, then for us. he is forgiven

Yea like Cracka said, we would have held on to EG in the trade for CP3. Irving would be in New Orleans instead.

Trading Baron+1stpick for Mo+Moon, I know the owner hated Baron, but that's what the amnesty is for... Although I think Mo is a great role player (Moon is not), they're not worth a 14ppg-6apg player and a top 10 (most likely considering they were the 8th worse team) lottery pick.

Unlucky that their pick came 1st, but stupid for doing that trade instead of just using the amnesty clause on BD (I know Sterling hates to give up money but still).

the trade happened before the lockout started, clips had no idea that new amnesty clause would come into effect.

Thats not how real life works friend. Your blaming Sterling for not being able to predict the new CBA. And Mo is worth a low % pick in an unimpressive draft.

Didn't they expect there to be an amnesty clause though, wasn't that one of the main points that were to be emphasized on during the agreements?. And I think you're selling Baron short, Mo is a better role player, but not a top 10 pick better.

I agree hindsight is 20/20, but was Baron really that bad last season? Or did I just not watch enough games?

Yup, and they would make an even dumber trade for Paul including both Irving + Gordon, Aminu and Minni's 1st.

As much as they wanted to get rid of baron Davis couldn't they have wait until after the lottery and make the trade in the offseason so that they could determine where they'd be drafting first?

Stupid trade for the clippers and not to mention the length of the contracts of both Davis and mo are the same too

The Clippers would have never won the draft if they kept it.

Remember, Stern rigged it for the Cavs. If the Cavs only had their original pick going into the lottery, that pick would have been first.

Obviously not. They go a different way, and letting their players develop.
