"This is the place where I wanted to be," he said. "Dallas is the one place I thought would be a great fit."

He's lying to himself in my opinion. He loved LA, and is really distraught that he got he traded from there, even though he demanded it out of hurt feelings.

Maybe its just the long offseason and the chemistry... Hopefully, he gets it going soon... I really think he would be a great fit if he can play like how he did with the Lakers...

Odom is Lakers' undercover double agent to the Dallas.

Joking aside, it's a bad break-up for both sides. Odom not playing well, and the Lakers only got an exception and likely late first-rounder out of the trade.

Too early.. LO will be back to the LO we know...He is too talented to continue to suck, he may be inconsistent at time but still a good player..

He's out of shape and his head is still in LA. I bet he regrets asking out now, because things could've been smoothed over if he decided to stay.

He misses LA

Dolfan305

He's averaging 4 points on 13% shooting. A new system can't be making a talented player like him this bad. Somethings wrong. Chloe give him an HIV?

4 games in the season with a new team. After a lengthy lockout. Give him some time.

He'll be fine, he has too much experience in this league and too much talent to continue to play this subpar for too much longer. I do agree that he probably regrets his decision to demand a trade request.

He'll figure it out... not sure if he'll be as good as he was last year again, but he just needs to find his niche... took him awhile to be good with the Lakers too, wasn't until he moved to that bench role that he really became a weapon.

Odom wished he could go back in time and take his trade request back he was upset and the lakers traded him so fast that he couldn't go back and say nevermind. You never know what your going to get from him he is the definition of inconsistant, even if he turns it up it won't be for very long.

I think he misses Los Angeles.

He's probably kicking himself for that trade demand. He must have demanded that trade bluffing and hoping that Mitch would be like 'no, wait, please, I'm sorry, please stay with us,' kind of how a girl threatens her boyfriend with dumping him so that he will appreciate her more. Little did Odom know Mitch would say 'fine, hit the road skank, your friend is hotter anyway.'

Maybe it's because he is no longer playing next to a top 2 SG and top 3 Center. He still has a top 5 PF in Dirk... but that's about it.

He's out of shape. On the TNT game vs OKC they said that. Showed Rick working with Odom by himself to get him in shape.

He's emotional. That's the problem with Lamar, and always has been. Had he stayed with Lakers, he still would have played like kaka. That's just the name of the business Mr. Khloe Kardashian, so suck it up and get your head in the game. The Mavs can use you.

Correction. He is playing with the best PF in the NBA who is better than LA's 2nd best SG in the NBA.

He is just depressed. Give it a few weeks and he'll be fine.

He's a baby. Wow you were ALMOST TRADED for Chris Paul! The best PG in the league!!! He should feel special to be included in such a trade. He should be glad a team wanted him.

Btw, Lamar Odom was never really that good. He is just being exposed because he is no longer with his boyfriend Kobe. Seriously on the Lakers, opponents got to worry about Kobe, Gasol, Bynum, Artest/Ariza.......it was hard to focus on 3rd/4th option Odom

I think it's a chemistry/upset thing right now. You gotta work to be good with your team-mates and he hasn't had much time and was pretty upset we could all see about being traded.

Also his wife/girl friend prolly doesn't help anything.

His trade request didn't get him dealt, Mitch knew he was soft, especially once cried after hearing about the trade.

on a serious note ... what line up and position in Dallas will he really be effective with?

I really don't see it...

The good news for him is i doubt the Mavs will pick up his option next year so he will get to go play where he want albeit for alot less money

Absolutely, but apparently Lamar is attracted to middle linebackers

Here's the answer right here.....plain in simple he's banging a fat chick.

Kris Humphries bangs a model and goes from putting up **** numbers to averaging a double double

Lamar Odom is banging Shrek......13% shooting percentage 4ppg. Argue against that

I agree with this poster.

I can't get over that -3.7 PER. It's just absurd. It'll be interesting to see how he turns this season around. Clearly he's bottoming out before he improves but I still don't like the fit. He's a PF who handles the ball well and that's not what Dallas needed. I get that they wanted a good rebounder and you can't hate trading nothing (TPE) for a talent like Odom. I just don't see how he fits what their rotation . You can't slide Dirk to C like LA did with Pau.

I have been watching him and he has been atrocious. It's not just about a new system because there are lots of players who are playing well in the same scenario that Lamar is in. He just seems slow and old. Maybe he is just really out of shape.

P.S. Even when the Lakers seem to make a wrong move, they somehow luck out. Odom for a first round pick and being able to add McBob for an 1/8 of Odoms salary is awesome! The Lakers can do no wrong. Mitch must have saw a fat Odom come crying into his office, and got on the horn immediately.
