Kobe torn ligament in shooting hand.

Some say he could be out 2-4 weeks, which in a 66 game season could mean ending up the 7 seed instead of the 3-4 seed. As if the Lakers werent already having a bad start of the season.

meh, what takes a normal man 4 weeks to heal, Kobe does in like 5 days. He won't miss all that much time, but it does hurt the Lakers early.

it's always something. If Bynum weren't suspended for the first five games Id say Kobe should sit and heal. Injured 33 year old Kobe is of no use for the Lakers come playoffs.

I'll never wish for a player to get hurt. Although I respect Kobe as the best player of an entire generation (and more...) I've never been a huge fan. This year, however, the Lake show has kind of an underdog feel (new coach, loss of Odom, aging roster) I want Kobe to prove he still has what it takes. Get well soon

I can't imagine anyone feeling sorry for the Lakers haha, cmon. But it does suck, you hate injuries to be the reason a team struggles.

He's not even going to miss any games. After he torn the ligament he just continued playing. It'll be ok.

Take that, Kobe! I actually despise the Lakers, but he's probably my most liked super star. Can't help but respect the guy, at least on the court.

It happens when you get older. Start to become a bit more fragile. But let's be honest, as constructed, we are not a championship calibur team. This just makes us have a lower seed

Kobes not gonna sit out any games because of this current injury. He's gonna be fine. People seem to be making it a much bigger deal than it is. The Lakers' roster is much worse than Kobe's wrist. People need to be more worried about that.

This probably means Lakers sign Arenas today or tomorrow.

Some doctors saying Kobe's injury takes 3-4 weeks to heal, thats about 20 games missed, which is 1/3rd of this 66 game season.

No bueno.

The roster is much more of a concern than Kobe's wrist. I don't know what production if any we can get off the bench. Artest and Walton are a total waste of 15 million dollars. McBob and Ebanks seem to be the only bright spots.

It is what it is. Lakers are not gonna be competing for a championship this season. At least not with this roster. I dont think Kobe's wrist is much of a concern. Whether his wrist was 100% healthy or not, the Lakers dont have the personell to compete with the talented teams in this league.

Yeah...I bet he'll be back earlier than most players would be...

But still, he's been so banged up these past few season...and that's not a good sign. Nagging injuries all year long is something the Lakers can't deal with...

I wouldn't say he's wearing down, but it sure looks like it. He's logged a ton of miles on that body...

I had the same broken finger on my right middle finger that he had but I couldn't play for 8 weeks since it needed surgery. He played with it even though any other person would have sat out for the 8 weeks. I highly doubt a torn legament will make him sit.

He might not play tonight, but he will on Christmas day even though we always lose on Christmas day with or without Kobe.

Lakers vs. Bulls on Sunday

Lakers have no Bynum (5 game suspension). An injured shooting hand and divorcing Kobe. No Odom.

I'm putting my life savings on the bulls.

OMG he will play Sunday. It's day-to-day. It's ****ing Kobe here not T-Mac. He will be out there and will contribute. My problem is if the Bulls win, its bc Kobe was injured.

Wow. So, they open with an injured Kobe and a suspended Bynum against Chicago, Sacramento and NY.

So, that's Fisher, Kapono, Barnes, McRoberts, Gasol as a starting lineup.....Oh lawd.

Yea, having your best player suffer a torn ligament in his shooting hand + starting center out for the game would've had absolutely nothing with the Bulls winning.

Enjoy beating Gasol and scubs, im even putting money on Chicago.

Full Bulls Roster with a paid D-Rose, against a Laker Squad with no Bynum, A pissed off Gasol, No Odom, and either no or a shooting hand injured Kobe.

Tis gonna be a Red Christmas at the Staples Center.

The Lakers are in serious trouble for the season in general. There are so many teams that could end up than them, even at full health. I say they finish 5th or 6th in the west. I just think OKC, LAC, and Memphis Youth, Dallas/San Antionio's Depth, and then some random emerging team could also hurt them.

Curry's injury is a bad sign since it is on the same surgically altered ankle. Kobe's injury doesnt seem like a big deal. Doubt he will miss much time, if any.
