The redraft Finals are here. Poughkeepsie vs Middleotwn. Vote for the team you feel would beat the other in a 7 game series which means that team is the champion of the redraft.

Poughkeepsie has home court advantage

Poughkeepsie:

Congrats to Middletown with a ton of upsets to make it to the Finals, but I think that run is over.

PG: Chauncey Billups(32)/Toney Douglas(16)
SG: DeMar DeRozan(28)/OJ Mayo(20)/Anthony Parker
SF: Kevin Durant(38)/Richard Jefferson(10)
PF: Tim Duncan(30)/Udonis Haslem(18)/Reggie Evans
C: Joakim Noah(30)/Robin Lopez(18)

6th man: OJ Mayo

To begin, I think my team is well balanced. I know he has Kobe Bryant, but honestly, you have to look past that. Outside of him, what else is there? Granger has his moments, Miller is an alright PG, and Bogut is a good C, but Boozer is terrible. There isn't that much scoring to rely on outside of Kobe. Essentially, I'll be playing 5 on 4 every time Boozer is in the game. You can't trust someone that didn't show up in last year's playoffs in a Redraft Finals matchup.

PG match up:
Chauncey Billups (6’3) vs Andre Miller (6’2)

-This would be a good match up. Both are getting up their in age, but Billups has the edge here. He's known for his big shots, and being a great defender. I'm just not worried about Andre Miller being their point guard alongside Kobe.

Edge: Poughkeepsie

SG match up:
DeMar DeRozan (6’7) vs Kobe Bryant (6’6)

-This is a no brainer.. It's Kobe. DeRozan might be able to slow him down a little (I said "might" and "a little"), but Kobe will still have his ways with DeRozan.

Edge: Middletown

_________________________________
SF match up:
Kevin Durant (6’9) vs Danny Granger (6’9)

-Granted, Granger is pretty good, but Durant is arguably the best scorer in the NBA right now. Since Durant doesn't have a height advantage here like he has throughout the playoffs, it might be a little harder for him to score, but I wouldn't doubt that Danny Granger would necessarily "stop" him. Durant is Durant. I have this advantage.

Edge: Poughkeepsie

_________________________________
PF match up:
Tim Duncan (6’11) vs Carlos Boozer (6’9)

-Did you watch Carlos Boozer last year? He was terrible. Tim Duncan may be getting older, but he can still contribute on any playoff team, where Boozer didn't even show up in the playoffs last year. Duncan has shown to be a legit defender as well, so there's no question I have the advantage here.

Edge: Poughkeepsie

C match up:
Joakim Noah (6’11) vs Andrew Bogut (7’0)

-Both of these guys are very good at their positions. Both have proved that they're defensive specialists and are definitely a reason why these two teams are still fighting for the title. Bogut has been a bit more dominant (for lack of a better word) in his career, and has a small height advantage on Noah, so they get the slight advantage.

Edge: Middletown slightly

His bench isn't very good and I have great compliments to all of my starters. In the case that Kobe starts destroying DeRozan, I would switch Durant on to Kobe so he could slow him up a little more. Having a 3-inch height advantage would do the trick. Sure Kobe would still score, but it would be A LOT harder. This is a great match up between two teams that deserve to be here. I wish Middletown luck throughout the way, and hope to draw up a few arguments along the way. Thank you for taking your time to read my write up and for those who voted for me, thank you as well.

Middletown:

Depth Chart:
PG: J.J Barea/ Andre Miller /Beno Udrih
SG: Kobe Bryant/Stephen Jackson/Marcus Thornton
SF: Danny Granger/ Stephen Jackson/ Shawn Williams
PF: Carlos Boozer/J.J Hickson/Shawn Williams
C: Andrew Bogut/DeAndre Jordan/J.J Hickson

Overall: Congrats to the Poughkeepsie for getting lucky (Haha). Well overall I like my chances against this team. I feel has my team has more threats all around.
PG match up:
Chauncey Billups (6’3) vs J.J Barea (6’0)

-For this matchup I changed up my starting line up. I feel has Barea gives me a big edge when on offense because he will run run run all round Billups. Who everybody saw has lost a step the past years. Also one big reason why I will put Barea in is too stop those spot up 3’s Billups loves to throw up. Barea will put pressure on Billups all up the court to force him to move around without the ball to get shots up. But Billups does have the weight and height against him so I do think if he post him up he will struggle but I would send him help to defend that

____________
SG match up:
DeMar DeRozan (6’7) vs Kobe Bryant (6’6)

-Everyone knows that Kobe will always get his points regardless. DeMar is great defender but Kobe will be Kobe and score. On defense Kobe is a good defender in his own right, Demar is not a scorer so I don’t see much trouble with him there.

_____________
SF match up:
Kevin Durant (6’9) vs Danny Granger (6’8)

- This is an interesting match up. Two good scorers going head to head. Danny is solid on defense and I think can cause trouble to Kevin in certain situations. But like Kobe Durant will get his points and score. There is nothing you can do about that.

_________________________________
PF match up:
Joakim Noah (6’11) vs Carlos Boozer (6’9)

-This match up here is hard to judge. Mainly because Boozer can shoot the mid range bucket and Noah is a great defender. I think what will decide this match up is if Boozer is on that night when shooting.

_________________________________
C match up:
Tim Duncan (6’11) vs Andrew Bogut (7‘0)

-Tim Duncan is one of the best ever to play. But sadly this is not 3-4 years ago, it now. I think Bogut’s length will cause trouble for Tim and on offense Bogut will make Tim work a lot because he can shoot the mid range shots and post up. Tim has regressed over the past years; I don’t see him matching up to Bogut.

I think I win this matchup. If you take out Durant I don’t see any scoring threat there. On my team you can’t double one guy because the other would put up 20 points on you easily. My team will score and his team will have trouble keeping up scoring wise.

Thank you all for voting for me the past weeks. I really appreciate it! May you continue to vote for me :)

Good luck to both teams.

if durant isn't scoring, duncan and billups will step up. billups can still score even though he's older, and i still think billups is a better PG than barea. barea was a backup for the mavs and was a spark off the bench. he's not capable of starting. i can still put durant on kobe and bring mayo into the game to guard granger. kobe would have a much harder time shooting over durant and his lanky self.

I love how Poughkeepsie says Middletown doesn't have a very good bench... Andre Miller or JJ Barea, Stephen Jackson, Marcus Thornton, DeAndre Jordan, JJ Hickson, Shawne Williams, Beno Udrih... I can't imagine there is a team in your leauge with a better bench than that.

there were only 16 teams in the whole redraft.

Still doesn't change the fact it's a pretty damn good bench.
