A recent heart exam on newly acquired Kings forward Chuck Hayes revealed an abnormality that will require further testing.

After spending his first six seasons with the Houston Rockets, Hayes signed a four-year deal worth $21.3 million last week.

The abnormality was revealed during a stress echocardiogram.

The Kings open up preseason play at the Golden State Warriors Saturday night. Hayes' status is unknown.

Terrible news. He is the most impressive defensive guy in the league for his size.

That sucks. Especially when you consider he was ecstatic to be returning to his hometown team.

Sad to hear. I wanted him bad in Indy. Would rather of signed him than David West.

Thats extreme, Im guessing you want more defense around Hibbert, I think youll change your mind when you see how well he fits in offensively.

I don't think it's extreme at all. I'd rather have a cheaper/younger/less injury prone player in Hayes then a guy like David West. Don't get me wrong, West is great offensively, but we already have a big in Hibbert that pretty much has the same offensive repertoire as West on a less consistent basis. Hayes would compliment Hibbert much better by playing to his weaknesses.
