View Full Version : Kobe's Wife: He Cheated Too Much, Files for Divorce

VinceCarter
12-16-2011, 08:26 PM
Sources connected with the couple tell TMZ ... Vanessa -- who stuck by Kobe after he was charged with sexually assaulting a Colorado woman in 2003 -- decided to end the marriage because she believes Kobe has been unfaithful ... again.

As one source puts it, "She's been dealing with these incidents for a long time and has been a faithful wife, but she's finally had enough," adding, "This one is the straw that broke the camel's back."

And our sources say ... Kobe "desperately" wants to win Vanessa back and will do "whatever it takes" to save their 10 1/2 year marriage.

He'll get through it. It's Kobe guys. Things were much worse in 04, flying back to Eagle Rock on game days, and playing superbly on the floor during the nights and that too in a tremendously dysfunctional team. Still remember early in that season when he literally arrived at Staples like 15 minutes before tipoff and what did he end up doing? Hitting the buzzer beater against the Nuggets on a fadeaway jumper.

Might be a blessing in disguise, can you imagine the anger and added edge he's going to play with now? Just when you thought you couldn't motivate the guy anymore, things just don't get much more enticing.

Commissioner,

It would be a travesty to allow this divorce between Lakers Guard Kobe Bryant and his wife Vanessa Bryant to go through.

This divorce should go to a vote of Kobe's 29 Mistresses.

Over the next three years, this divorce would lead to Kobe losing millions and millions of dollars.

I cannot remember a divorce where the man stands to lose so much money.

I just don’t see how we can allow this divorce to happen.

I know the vast majority of Kobe's Mistresses feel the same way that I do.

When will we just change the name of 25 of Kobe's 30 Mistresses to Vanessa Bryant?

you can say that basketball players have a the highest divorce rate, because they do cheat the most. Why? because more hoes goes after them. Most hoes wouldn't recognize a football player, a soccer player wont get them bragging rights for their hoe girlfriends, and baseball players arent tall and black like most the hoes like.

Lets say Kobe scores 60 a game, with 25 assists, 20 rebounds, 10 steals, and 10 blocks a game without a turn over and wins every game and sweeps the playoffs.

How does this shut up the critics that are calling him a bad human being for cheating again on his wife. How does this shut up the critics that point out the pathetically bad immature ways he often conducts himself during the offseason (he's usually good during the season).

On court accomplishment does not forgive off court antics, comments, disrespect, or conduct.

We still have the best shooting guard in the league, a great front court, and an improving bench. It would be very difficult to comprehend the amount of temptation. The only thing I will fault Kobe for is not signing a prenup. That was dumb. But again, to me these guys are basketball players. Well then they shouldn't have made the commitment to marry their spouses. Kobe has a family of two children and he has to think of his family as well as his job. He can't go around and bang a girl every time he has an away game (not saying that he did that) but he must be faithful.

Cheaters are horrible people, pathic, have no concept of loyalty and have no respect for anyone including themselves.

If you can understand you understand. I'm not going to try and change your mind and your not going to get me to think positively about a cheater.

You can think Kobe is scum and still root for the Lakers. You can hold someone to a moral standard. If a Sixer was a cheater then my opinion of them would change but that doesn't mean I wouldn't root for them to do well on the court and help the Sixers.

Do some research before saying that.

edit 3:

TMZ broke the stories of Michael Jackson's death and John Wooden before anyone else, by talking to police, hospital, and people close to the situation, and they broke them before any news outlet reported any story about, including local news....I know for a fact that both of those stories where on TMZ before CNN, Reuters, or 3 different local networks that shortly after it was reported went to the story.

I'm not saying that you should go to them for news but they check sources and report. They are a entertainment news site not a tabloid that makes stuff up.

Its called track record, image, or whatever you want to call it.

If this was Steve Nash or Lamar Odom people would look at it differently. Even without Colorado I see no evidence from anything Kobe has ever said or done to believe he is innocent.

I think you're missing my point. The fact that they are getting a divorce is news. I can be validated and substantiated. Its a fact. The part about him cheating is gossip. Not proven, not validated, not confirmed. We haven't even heard his wife actually say that yet its all second hand what she is supposed to be saying. All that we know is "irreconcilable differences."

Now if you want to jump to your own conclusion based on previous history thats on you. As for me Im not very quick to believe what some woman who stands to gain multi millions from a divorce is "supposedly" saying, but thats just me........

NBA contracts should include a no-marriage clause for these dumb****** Nobody has mentioned that Kobe was only 21 or 22 when he married the broad ..Sorry but a 22 year old man should not be allowed to get married let alone a rich 22 year old athlete.. i know Vanessa is just god awful gorgeous and your're thinking damn I could stay on that island forever..but the minute she cops an attitude or you get into a fight, the next time you go to colorado you bang yourself an inbred girl to get the sizzling out of your blood..you know what LeBron James is smart..he can do anything he wants without fear of some bloodhound taking half his checks..

Sorry, but I don't really think she is that hot, especially before all the work she got done. Lebron ain't that smart either. Even though he hasn't married his chick, he still has kids with her so he would still have to pay a ton of money for child support.

The part about him cheating is absolute fact. Even if he hasn't cheated since Colorado; he still cheated, he admitted it. I am going to give her the benefit of the doubt because if she was willing to stay with him through that whole ordeal, I think it would take something major for her to actually file for divorce, like continuous cheating. She has proven to be a more trustworthy person than him. I've met Kobe, he is a cocky ******* that thinks he is above others. His credibility is zero, I don't blame her for filing for divorce.

She knew he was cheating and didnt have to stay w him, all this role model stuff is bs too. If you were rich, famous, good looking (no homo), and had vag thrown at yiu everywhere you went, you would cheat too.

I hope people are aware that in the state of California after ten years of marriage you are entitled to more financial benefits such as a portion of you're spouse retirement for life. So for all you that want to judge him before the facts come out, if it is true he was cheating all this time do you think its a coincidence she waited exactly 10 years before she had "the final straw?"

Women aren't stupid, its well known that athletes are notorious for cheating. Especially at the superstar level. Most of them are willing to trade the right to fidelity for a life of being rich and doing absolutely nothing......

who cares..

if you're a man, you're gonna cheat.

as a man who respects the institute of not only marriage, but a relationship, I take offense to this. I have never cheated, never would. I left my wife because she cheated on me.

Regarding this thread, I still, for the life of me, don't get why high profile, high paid athletes get married in the first place. You will have so much hot tang thrown at you, its stupid to get married. But if you do, you have to be stronger than most, and just avoid the groupies like the plague.

I have zero respect for cheaters. Leave your partner if you want to stray.

By the way, its not like Vanessa is ugly or let herself go. She is blazing hot. Kobe is an idiot.

I remember Kobes Dad begged him to get a pre-nup and he refused so he just has to take that one on the chin. Oh well, guess they'll be a new member of "basketball wives."

I wouldn't be shocked if her an Shaq's witch of a ex came out with their own spinoff: "Laker Wives: A True Hollywood Story!" They could throw Khloe in there for good measure and really have a time of it!

if you are making millions of dollars to play a game you played when you were a kid, you could atleast be a good role model and not cheat on your wife. seriously. you play a game and people love you every where. just stick to you one hot wife and not send the wrong message to all young kids who are your fans.

Enough with the role model talk. If it wasnt for professional sports, the majority of these guys would be in prison, on the street or broke. These guys are not role models. Theyre athletes. If you are concerned that your children will replicate these athletes' behaviors, I suggest you teach them between right and wrong. Enough blaming everyone else for one's problems. You dont have to like Kobe or anyone else. But lets not be hypocrites here. If you dont like Kobe because he "cheated" on his wife, then you shouldnt like any other professional athlete whose married. News flash: they all cheat. Its nearly impossible not to give in to that much temptation.

I respect the fact that you respect the institute of marriage. But its almost impossible for you or I to say what we would do if we were in that situation. Its easy to say you would never cheat on your wife if you are a lay person. However, if you had the amount of temptation that these athletes do coming your way, its almost impossible not to cheat. Its human nature. Its like if everyday you were walking down the street, and you see $10K in cash laying on the floor. Every day a new stack is there and you know its someone else's money. You might walk by it without taking it for a few days or ever a few weeks, but eventually you will take it. Its just human nature. Anyways, I 100% agree with you that these high profile athletes should never ever get married. And if you are so dumb as to get married, at least sign a prenup. Vanessa just came up.

no, its not easy to not cheat. But if you have any respect for yourself, you don't. Period. End of story. If I was a 22 year old kid, and was a high profile athlete and a millionaire, I wouldn't get married. Part of not failing at things is not putting yourself in the position to do so. Being a star NBA player is a perfect example of this.

I think if anything has become apparent it's that very few of these athletes and coaches are actually worthy role-models.

They get married, because (a.) as ironic as it sounds, they want stability and someone that they can trust sleeping next to them; and (b) because people have been preconditioned since birth that marriage spells redemption and completion and convinces others that they are grounded in their convictions. As long as people continue to subscribe to that crazy theory, the madness will continue.

I've never been a baller, but I was definitely considered a "catch" back in my prime. Most women were easy gets, but you quickly realize that they are not with you because of the person that you are per se, but for what you represent to them (i.e., money, fame, security, influence, community standing, etc.). You see the game, but you play it anyway.

Oddly enough, the more *** you tap, the more cynical you become. But the human element never leaves you. Deep down, we're all looking for deep bonds of unquestioned loyalty and unconditional support from the people that are closest to us.

If that happened to me on a much smaller, more localized scale, imagine what it's like for a high profile athlete that is in a different city every night.

And not everyone can be Derek Jeter. In fact, Captain should consider himself lucky to have come to earth from another planet whereupon he was raised by the Kents to be leary of the only thing that can kill him -- commitment, err, I mean kryptonite.

For the rest of us mere mortals, the minute a woman convinces you that she's in your corner to stay through thick and thin, marriage almost always ensues. And if you happen to be a pro athlete, consider that the kiss of death. It may be on a slow timer with a 10-year delayed effect, but eventually, inevitably, you're doomed. :D :D :D

I agree, in a sense. Nobody knows what their relationship was really like other than Mr. Bryant and Mrs. Bryant. People change, anyways again I sympathize for the little girls and that's it. Vanessa, she gonna be ok.

It's surprising how NBA players get divorced so frequently. Kobe, Shaq, MJ, Tony Parker, Karl Malone, Jkidd, Dwade,I think Tmac is too right?

Highest divorce rate of any sport you think?
