View Full Version : Most exciting player in the NBA today?

Ebbs

Dirk has always been my favorite player I love watching him play. His shooting skill combined with his size always intrigued me.

But I always thought Vince Carter was the most exciting player I ever got to see in his prime. The things he could do in the aur were insane.

I actually came across this idea thinking about how I believe Paul and Griffin were both individually more exciting than Kobe.

Who today in your opinion is the leagues most exciting player to watch?

*Note not neccasarily the best player or your favorite player.

LeBron
Dirk
Griffin
Wade
Amare

are probably my top 5. I have noticeably been hard on Amare because I think he squanders his massive amounts of talent. But he has always been super exciting to watch running down the court doing freaky athleticthings.

^For all that athletic ability, Amare sucks at rebounding. Hasn't even had one 10+ rebounding season.

i like players who have it all. can play d, have a consistent mid range and 3, who can TAKE OVER, especially in the 4th. thats why i like kobe. I wouldnt mind a dunk on someone every now and then. or an acrobatic layup. and especially a buzzer beater.

I don't see how anyone could say durant is even top 5 most exciting, FT's galore isn't exciting(not that i'm hating on him, but he is one of the least exciting star player's in the league, and will most likely win the MVP this year despite that).

I think the fans disagree with you. Apparently alot of people are still very entertained by his play, watch the away games and see how many Kobe jerseys you see in the crowd. And you mentioned '06 but I believe as recently as 2010 he dropped a record in Madison Square garden, a game winner in Boston, and numerous road game winners throughout the year so yeah I would call that fairly entertaining. You don't get to be the most popular player by osmosis......

I know what you're saying. His past years have helped him reach this level of popularity and idolatry by fans, but it doesn't make him the more entertaining. I'd pay a lot of $$$ to watch Larry Bird play in '92 if I could, but it definitely wouldn't be because of his entertainment value at that point.

Top 5

1. Dirk
2. Wade
3. Manu (homer pick)
4. Amare
5. Lebron I hate him soooo much. I'm a kinda sorta Miami fan now (was big time pre 2010), but I have NEVER liked Lebron. He is a ball hog and his taking rediculous shots all the time hurts the team sometimes. He should be more of a PG. /end rant about Lebron

wow... there are some names on this list that definitely should not be on there and are just taking up space. this would be a better poll if there were only about 10 to choose from.

When I envision exciting basketball I think sheer athleticism and "no regard for human life" moments, so my list is Griffin, Rose, and Lebron. If the list were expanded to include favorite players to watch I would have to somehow fit Kobe, Dirk, Durant, and Duncan into the list.

He does not have RoseRed1s velocity. Speed kills and Rose kills his opponents with that speed and quickness. He drives in the lane sideways sometimes to beat a double team for goodness sake. AGILITY!!!

3.Griffin
4.Dirk
5.Nash

How can you forget about Nash?

Corey

For me it's Chris Paul. He can break down any defender, make any pass, and score on his own in any way.

In terms of pure athleticism, though, Lebron, Rose or Griffin.

The answer to this will result in where the person is from. Lot of different answers due to the mass amount of stars around the league.

Kobe, Griffin, CP3, Dirk, Melo/LBJ/Wade, D.Howard, Rose, Durant, Wall..all in their own way make huge impacts, in high fashion.

Dwyane Wade hands down for me. There's not a more aesthetic and exciting thing in basketball than watching Wade driving in with the ball. After Michael Jordan, no other player has lifted my adrenaline level as much as Mr. Wade.

A distant second on my list is LeBron James. Then comes Blake Griffin, CP3, and Nash.
