I'm assuming that's Carl Landry?

Yup, Carl Landry.

I gotta say, Stern really did make that team's stock rise a ton the past 24 hrs. So much talent and potential there now for a potential buyer. He'll only sell to a buyer that will keep the team in NO too.

This team isnt looking too shabby for next year

Jack/Green
Gordon/Bellinelli
Ariza/Aminu
Landry/Okafor
Kaman

They are going to make teams work

They should probably trade Kaman, Ariza and Landry to suck hard enough to get two of those guys.

Guess Stern isn't a believer in tanking. But they still have the "rigged" pick.

oh for sure. it's a good trade for landry because he'll get a lot of time to raise his value. which is also good for new orleans. someone will go for kaman's expiring contract and he and ariza could both help a playoff team this year.

it was a huge mess but seems to have worked out well for now. what they really need to do is sell the damn team.

Good deal for the Hornets and a chance for Landry to start. I'm sure that's what went into the consideration. He will have to beat out Okafor most likely.

lolz, Landry starting is a disaster. He can't rebound or play defense to save his life and he's undersized.

Can't rebound?

Can't play d?

Undersized?

His size don't effect effect him one bit, dude is a bulldog, I love landrys game.

He's a good offensive post player no doubt, but he's a complete disaster on the other end of the floor. Expecting starting minutes out of him will only hurt your team

Look at his rebound rate. His offensive rebounding is pretty good but his defensive rebound rate is comparable to Beno Udrih's. Yep. You'll see what he's talking about. His defense is average at best too.

I'm not saying he's a great defender, but comparing to most NBA players he's certainly not terrible. As far as rebounding, everytime I've watched him he's been a complete beast.

No, he's pretty terrible defensively. He routinely got destroyed by average PF's and the number of games where he had 3 rebounds or less is fairly embarrassing. He's effective if you play him in the role Houston did: a 6th man, instant post offense that you play 20-25 minutes a game.

Probably come off the bench like last year. Okafor will probably start at the 4.

I completely agree. They need to start their best defensive bigs in Okafor and Kaman... they'll get offense from Gordon and Jack.
