Didn't want to see Kobe with 7 or 8 championship rings, which he probably would have gotten with the original Paul Howard Kobe scenario that would have taken place. Michael Jordan wanted his legacy preserved... he didn't want any possibility that anyone else would get 6 championships, which is also why he pushed for the new rules as an owner. The bad thing is that the entire league will suffer as a result. "Basketball reasons", it turns out, was Michael Jordan, not Gilbert!

"And while Jordan never expressed his opinion to NBA commissioner David Stern on the trade, he said Wednesday that such moves simply don't help smaller market teams."

:laugh2:

He opposed the trade just like most of the other owners did.

Could be the top one (of course with the assist of a lot of other owners).... but it wouldn't surprise me if Gilbert is dressed up as a wizard behind a curtain looking into a cauldron and practice black magic using bettlejuice and pictures of Lebron James.

Seriously. Kobe homers are too much into this useless argument. Robert Horry has a bunch of rings. I guess he's challenging MJ too?

none of the above

Kobe homers are mad because they won't be able to use the "Kobe has more rings than Jordan, therefore Kobe > Jordan" that they've been LONG waiting for.

Yet people still wouldn't care lol.

Why would the GOAT care about Kobe winning more rings?

Kobe could win 2 or 3 more ships and wouldn't been seen better then Jordan. Jordan took pretty much 3 years off, 2 of them when he was in his prime and didn't come back for the lock out season. The Bulls could of had easily 9 championships with Jordan. Besides, No one has had the same impact on a sport then Michael. So it really didn't matter what Kobe did really. Jordan's records, competitiveness, success rate, Finals MVP's speak for themselves.

Kobe could have 10 rings and he'd still never be as good as Jordan.

So your source has nothing to do with MJ's thoughts on Kobe, and states that he had nothing to do with 'basketball reasons'?

Top work, bro.

Does anyone see how inaccurate that is?

Yet your argument still holds no water. Why did the other owners veto the trade as well? Did they not want Kobe to win more rings than Jordan either?

Oh, okay. Cool. That is as relevant as the topic of this thread is to CP3 not getting traded to LA.

Who the FCUK is Kobe? Seriously stop insulting the GOAT but putting a lucked out Vince Carter/T-Mac on the same sentence. This CP3 drama has certainly took the LA fanbase down...and it's going down fast with these dupes creating pointless threads. I feel bad for the the good ones such as Bruno, Avenged24, Shep etc.

lol at Laker fans thinking Kobe approaches the GOAT with more championship rings. Those who think that basically show themselves to be homers.
