once this team learns how to play together, they'll become pretty good. i'd say probably the 5th or 6th seed since the season is short, but wouldn't be surprised if they upset that 3rd or 4th seed in the first round.

Clippers have no perimeter defense whatsoever.
Fortunately for them you can make playoffs easy in the West playing no defense.

5th seed at best. its really going to hurt them having billups at the 2. if jordan gets in foul trouble (and he does at times) they have nothing to help griffin. expect a ton of teams to just zone them

As a Clipper fan I say 4-6, but a Championship contender. We will be better come playoff time than to start the year. We have like 8 players right now. LOL! There is only about a week before the season starts. I don't expect to always be pretty at first.

People dont understand how good CP3 is. I 100% agree that the clippers are a championship contender right now. I think its them and okc at the top of the west maybe not in the standings at the end of the year, but i think those two teams are the most dangerous teams in the west.

we are a fragile team. CP3/Caron/Griffin are our 3 bigs and they all have knee issues. come the playoff time there is a chance all 3 are watching on the bench in suits. hey at least our trainers could probably get a bulk discount from medical suppliers for knee braces.

man i feel pessimistic still. i need another day to get over this.

The more I drink the better I think the trade is. LOL! The REALLY hard thing is that EJ was the first guy we ever drafted to want to re-sign and we traded him. That is very tough, but CP3 certianly makes up for it!

I think 4 or 5, one of those tough series where home court will make the difference. It would be crazy if Lakers were 4 somehow and Clips made it to 5, but that actually is not possible.

However, Lakers 3 seed and Clippers 6 would work, if we say the Thunder and Mavs get the 1 and 2

4-6 I think. They lost a lot of depth with that deal. Kaman is arguably the best backup center in the league (when he's healthy). Gordon was a star SG, you can make a case for him really being behind only Kobe and Wade (I'm probably forgetting someone lol so don't crush me). Aminu was versatile.

Now they have no backup bigs, no real SG either. Billups playing the 2 is dangerous. That backcourt is pretty small, and you mean to tell me he's gonna guard Kobe, Dwade, and all these top 2 guards in the league at his age and his size?

Deep at the guard spots, maybe they trade Bledsoe now though for a big...which would ultimately mean they traded their top 5 assets in response to the Cp3 deal.

Lots of cap room though, so this ain't over.

shep33
12-15-2011, 03:35 AM
that's still a scary team on paper... but also think about this. Blake, Cp3, and Caron all have had pretty bad knee injuries. Hopefully that doesn't strike them at all this year, cause they're all great players

In all honesty though, the Lakers have the worst PG rotation in the league. As a Laker fan I wasn't surprised by Cp3 dominating us, because we let guys like Earl Watson and Luke Ridnour eat us up this season. Pg's destroyed us this year. Every night we're at a disadvantage there.

But I'm gonna say 4-6. They lost a lot of depth, basically left with pg's. Their bench is extremely thin right now

Thunder has too much talent they might hit there prime this season!

Lakers get Howard.

Mavs drop down without chandler

Clippers do decent, Cp3 and Griffen get as far to 4th.

Nuggets prove everyone wrong again, nothing new, theyll be 5th spot. with Nene, Gallo, Ty, and great depth!

Spurs show how OLD they are.

Grizzlies do enough to get 7. not sold on them

and Blazers im not sold either. brandon roy retires. wallace on the way out, too much uncertain stuff.

Terrible Logic. The Mavs were a great regular season team even when we had Erika as our center. The Mavs added a lot of depth while the Lakers lost their 6th man. Kobe is on a decline while Dirk is playing great. So why would the Lakers be ahead of the Mavs again?

Time to trade mo williams and get a SG

C-Jordan
PF-Griffin/Thompson
SF-Butler/Thompson
SG-Billups??/
PG-Paul/Bledsoe/Mo

Time to trade Mo to a team for a backup SG and use Billups at the 2 a little undersized billups is but he's another scoring threat I wouldn't want on the bench maybe try and get CJ miles if he's a free agent

But this team I wouldn't be surprised if they got to the Semi finals or even the finals

I say they finish 2nd Thunder finish 1st Lakers 3rd Spurs 4th Blazers 5th Memphis 6th Dallas

Are people dumb or something? Portland didn't have Roy all last year! Wallace was are 6th man and he hasn't been traded yet and we Added Felton we will add Crawford and hopefully Carl Landry so really we didn't lose anything except a Roy & Oden we didn't have anyway

Camby/Kurt Thomas/Maybe Joel Pryzbilla
Aldridge/(hopefully Landry)
Batum/Wallace
Matthews/Crawford
Felton/Nolan Smith

Same team who got a lot better Batum was Beasting in france during the lockout

Dallas lost there championship team No Barea No chandler no Butler(non factor in the playoffs hurt)

Just out of curiosity... You're saying a team that hasn't played a game yet is better than the defending champions, a team that won 61 games last year, and a team that has one of the best players in the game with nice PF/C combo?

But they're not better than 3 teams that haven't done anything?

Transition period, the team started off ugly because they didnt utilize Blake. EG was still the 3rd option (Behind Baron-Kaman) it wasnt until those 2 got injured that they established themselves. Once Baron and Kaman came back it was a different team with a different pecking order, from that point forward they were defeating top caliber clubs and going .500.

Ok, well let's just say that they were a .500 team last year. In 2010-2011 Portland was the 6th seed with a .585 winning percentage, which would equate to about 39 wins (33 wins would be .500) in this years shortened 66 game schedule.

So I guess the question is, is CP3 worth more than an additional 6 wins (39 vs. 33) compared to EG, Kaman, and Aminu? I don't think so.

MrfadeawayJB
12-15-2011, 05:18 PM
They will def be improved, but a huge improvement for this team would be to even make the playoffs. Their lack of depth will hurt them, and although the acquisition of CP3 is huge (in lobs to griffin and jordan), they have a offensive minded team that needs to play Defense. Small backcourt wont help them defensively, and Butler is not the player he once was. i will go 5-8 seed IF they live up to the hype
