Damn this league is a mess. I thought Boston had West in the bag. Interesting move by Indiana. Not sure it's enough though. I think they were better off paying more for Gasol...

Collison
George
Granger
West
Hibbert

should be pretty solid, all depends on how West returns from injury.

This is kind of a risky move for Indy paying a big man $10M/yr after trying to get back from knee surgery, but with their cap situation I guess they can afford it.

Still think a Milsap trade would have been a better fit for them though.

dont get why they need another big if they plan on resigning gasol. mayo was their bench. tony allen and gay worked well as starters. pacers shouldnt pass on this gift good move

doubt it. Boston is offering 3/29, almost equal salary per year, more overall salary, more job security, and a contender. He won't sign unless he knows the Celtic thing is dead

Rather have Milsap

Its only a 2 year deal instead of 4 so the Pacers cut the risk in half. If he doesn't pan out then he is a nice expiring chip next season. They have to spend money anyways to get up to 85% cap. So they might as well use it on a possible all-star.

The situation for the celtics is different. They would have to do a sign and trade but it sounds like their not willing to give anything up

It would be a solid signing, if they can actually pry him away from Boston.

Stern will veto "star player going to big market (Boston)= no no" whereas Indiana is not... Stern is a little troll, expect the worst. It's ironic, he screwed 4 teams with that veto. 2 of them are the most prestigious franchises in the league. Lakers + Celtics unite to take Stern down???

the celtics deal was likely contingent with the cp3 deal. what do you think owner stern wants to approve. a deal that takes no salary and will come with a draft pick to the team or a deal that brings up a center that will beg to be bought out and 2 scrubs as filler.

New Orleans wants something in return, or there's no reason for them to do a sign and trade with Boston. Indy will sign him outright. At $10M/yr, they'll still have cap room in 2012 AND a $10M expiring contract to deal.
