Way too soon, but w/e:

EC (thinking Dwight gets traded prior to season's tipoff; Magic probably right there with Knicks and Celts if he stays)
1. Miami (more experience, better with healthy Miller and Battier)
2. Chitown (may have overachieved a bit last season, shouldn't be too much of a dropoff)
3. Knicks (likely to be stacked with a lineup of Barea-Fields-Melo-Stat-TChandler and JaCraw off the bench; chemistry will need to come over time though)
4. Boston (tightly packed season will take its toll on the aging squad)

WC
1. OKC (stayed pat and will have better chemistry)
2. Lakeshow (if they stay pat)
3. Mavs (not nearly as stacked as they used to be, but still pretty good season team)
4. Spurs (tight season will have it's toll on the aging squad)

I think the Heat will be the top team in the nba this year, with the Bulls, Knicks and Celtics following close behind, but imo the 76ers and Pacers will be teams to watch for.

Wow. Just wow. How do they move from the 7th seed to the 4th seed with no major moves?

While I think #4 seed is a bit high for Philly, if they get expected improvements from Thad and Jrue, its not like the east is strong after the top 4 teams, so anyone can make a sudden move.

The Knicks will very likely be equal to or better than the Celtics and definitely better than the Magic.

East
1-Heat
2-Bulls
3-Knicks
4-Celtics

West
1-Thunder
2-Mavericks
3-Griz
4-Lakers

For me, the Griz will continue for where they left off even without Shane.

In the east, the Hawks can sneak into that 4th place depending on how the new front court of the Celtics look.

Based on the title of the thread, the OP wants to know as of now, so probably as you are typing your response. People putting stuff about Dwight Howard joining the Nets would make them a Top 4 team should not be factored in. You should be factoring in that fact that Howard is on Orlando right now. We should not be factoring any single rumor in the league. The Bulls are apparently looking to acquire Dwight Howard, but I cannot put them as the top team in the East based on the fact they might trade for him. So, as of now, with David West on the Pacers, I would say:

Heat
Bulls
Knicks
Pacers

Thunder
Lakers
Mavs
Spurs
