OAKLAND -- In the free agent market, the Warriors have been linked — almost exclusively — to big men like Tyson Chandler and DeAndre Jordan.

Incumbent center Andris Biedrins said at Friday’s season opening practice that he doesn’t blame the Warriors for trying to replace him.

“The last two years have been horrible for me,” Biedrins said.

He’s had plenty of injuries recently, but Biedrins thinks the biggest injury was to his confidence. He says he no longer has that problem after summer working out in his native Latvia. It was a summer in which he says he got completely healthy and put on 15 pounds of muscle in the process.

Coach Mark Jackson says HE has confidence in Biedrens.

“I believe in him,” Jackson said. "I think he can definitely get back to where he was."

Biedrins says he knows his coach has his back “as long as I rebound and block shots.”

He sounds extremely confident. And if he put on 15 pounds of muscle over the offseason, he could really have a bounce back year. If he can get back to 12 & a night, it would be huge.

So far Curry put on 10 pounds of muscle and Biedrins put on 15 pounds of muscle. Beefin up!

jeremy tyler needs to beef up

Yeah if he really wants to be a center or even a strong power forward he need's to put on more muscle.

I don't think they will. I think Jenkins, Thompson, Udoh, and Amundson All get alot of playing time.

Curry-Jenkins-FA
Ellis-Thompson-Jenkins
Wright-FA
Lee-Amundson-Udoh-Tyler
Biedrins-Udoh-Amundson

i dont think its likely we will sign jordan..unless perhaps we can have him and biedrins tandem..or trade beans and get SOMETHING. save the amnesty.

I'm not sure about this, but I was watching the NBA network and im pretty sure, not positive that they said teams have to use it by December 16. But im not absolutely sure.

ive read many steinmetz reports saying they should use it on Lee in one or two years..

maybe the 16th is the deadline for this season?

Yeah that's probably what it is. And I agree with Steinmetz. I think Lee will have a good year this season, but I think he's going to start to decline after that. I heard he lost some weight this off-season, and he expects to get back to getting 12 rebounds a game.

Teams have 6 years to exercise the amnesty option, but can only do it once

I love how last year it was Monta who stepped it up and matured as a player and leader, then had himself and all star year.

Well he didn't make the all stars but you know what I mean.

And now this year is Beans getting his confidence back and he feels good as a player and is ready to get back out there. Plus he bulked up!!!

This makes me very excited as a fan cause we have guys that want to be here and play for us.

I can't wait, I feel good about us this year. LETS GO WARRIORS!!!!

Oh and thanks for that video Shock.

I'm not gonna lie this is interesting. I was one of the people who defended Biedrins before last season only to realize that he was a lost cause.

Then again, what a timely report.. On the day Free Agents are to be signed the Warriors happen to have an article promoting Biedrins.

should we hold off on jordan?

iFYouSeekAmy
12-10-2011, 04:51 AM
The problem would be that if they offer Jordan a better deal, the Clips would have 3 days to match. Considering that we have a shortened free agency/training camp period, every day counts.

Jordan would be a great backup to Beans.

We should offer Bell and picks to some team with cap room just to clear salary. I know it's not getting talent in return, but it's better than to amnesty Bell. If they do that, they would have room to sign Jordan. If Clips decide not to match, then we would have BOTH Jordan and Biedrins. Both players are known for committing early fouls.

Now- if Clippers match the offer, and decide to amnesty Kaman to make room, then we would bid for Kaman at a MUCH lower price.

we have no picks to give until 2016. because of that marcus williams trade.

I think that's only for 1st rounders. We can still offer 2nds; we have Net's 2012 2nd round pick from the Troy Murphy trade.

why would we amnesty kaman? he is an expiring and even if we match DJ we are still not over the cap

he will either be traded by deadline for something more useful or let expire to make room for possible deron signing in 2012

Who knows, anything can happen. I mean, we could end up having the biggest move of the off season without actually making one. Hopefully Biedrins can build and maintain his confidence through the roof, regain his old form, and put up 10/10 type numbers.

If we do release or use the amnesty clause on Bell, and Biedrins gets back to his old form, it could be for the better. If we get Bells contract off the books after signing Thomspon and Tyler, we would be 11 million under the cap. We could use that money to sign some solid role players.

Yeah, but he was just used as a marketing tool. Lin was just a waste of space on the bench, good riddance.

why should we amnesty Bell? he's an expiring contract..important if you ask me. Gonna be harder to deal him now that we know he's an alcoholic.
