"Warriors guard Charlie Bell was taken into custody Thursday after showing up to court legally drunk for a hearing on his - get this - drunken driving case."

"Bell was held in a holding cell until he "sobered up" after blowing a .09 and is expected back in court on Friday. Bell was arrested in Flint Township on Oct. 21 for drunken driving, driving on a suspended license and failing to stop at a stop sign, and has already been suspended for the first regular season game. This is sure to result in a bigger suspension, if not end his career. He didn't have fantasy value to begin with, and now we're just hoping he gets his act together."

This is a perfect example of what's wrong with the last 3 NBA CBAs ... teams should be able to cut players and not still pay them millions. It's true in every other sport, just not the NBA. The agents have had too much sway on the NBA.

I've got to believe this is some kind of violation of his contract. They usually have a moral conduct clause of some kind. This looks like our best chance to dump his contract without wasting our amnesty on him... alcohol induced cap space if you will

LOL! charlie bell is a beast though. That probably explains why he averaged 3-5 airballs per game last season. Didn't he get stabbed by his wife a few months back? sounds like a horrible few years for him

Drinking and drugs are, I believe, not covered by the morals clause, they are covered by the CBA as fine able offenses, and they can lead to suspensions and eventually being kicked out of the league, but there is nothing to Warriors can do to get rid of him and his contract, it has to be the league. Let us all remember Sprewell.

Wow, what an idiot. No room for this guy on this team. It seems he was the one they wanted to amnesty anyways.

If they can find a way to cut him or remove him from the cap without using amnesty I'm sure they are investigating it now.

Per CSN Bay Area, the Warriors have told Bell to stay home and not come to training camp...I would assume there is more to come, like a release?
