I would love it. Trade Blake to the sonics so he can be Shawn Kemp Jr.

If somebody wants to buy NOH and move them to Seattle I'm all for it. the league should not own a team.

What does Nate Robinson not showing up at camp have to do with the Sonics?

If Michael Jordan, easily the richest and most financially successful players in his day owns a broke-welfare run team I'm scared to see what a team owned by Gary Payton would look like. Seriously.

Exactly, Nobody would want to play for them. Its the OWNERS, We had to lower our BRI Bcuz they were greedy. But I hate how they just cancel that Cp3 trade

Maybe he could get Kemp and let them both be half owners.. Just saying, it would be nice to have the 2 best Sonics players bring back Seattle

As much as I hate the fact that Seattle was robbed of the Sonics, if you buy a team you can move it wherever you want, if someone buys the Hornets and moves them to Seattle then great.

They could both have minor ownership roles maybe, essentially ceremonial, but seriously these guys are waaaaaay short of having majority ownership kind of money. They were both pro basketball players for quite a long time, but not nearly long enough to pay a full roster of pros year in and year out, especially now that contracts are bigger.

If the Sonics couldn't generate enough revenue to continue to run a Kevin Durant led team, there just isn't enough interest in Seattle to house an NBA team...

Force Dan Gilbert to sell, relocate the Cavs to Seattle, change that god awful name back to the Sonics and those sh-- stained colored uniforms back to green and white, and restore the NBA back to the league we loved.

yeah because its such a good idea to build teams in cities that just proved uneconomical for nba franchises

^ Yeah, when you consider Seattle didn't want to build a new arena because it had just built Safeco Field and Quest/Century Link Field. Don't jump the gun on your conclusion. Bennett knew the city couldn't afford a new arena, so he made that his pathetic demand.

GREATNESS ONE

The funny part of Gary Payton buying a team and moving them to Seattle is that Gary Payton as a player wanted out of Seattle and forced a trade out of town. He wouldn't sign a longterm deal and was probably going to leave or test the market. Now he wants to own a team in Seattle. I suppose then he'd get ticked if players didn't want to play their and force trades.

I doubt Payton would own the team. I'm guessing someone like Steve Ballmer might be the background investor, who was supposedly interested in keeping the team in Seattle back in 2008, and Payton is either there to be a part of the FO or he's just the face Seattle wants to see to believe this is something true ;)

Payton wanted to leave Seattle because Howard Schultz ran him out of town he didn't know how to run a basketball franchise at all.

I believe Payton when he says a team will return i just wish he wouldn't attach a year to it.
