A match made in heaven.

Miami tasty, but greasy, Cuban food and Eddy Curry!!!!!

Cardiologists all around Brickell are looking to book business.

Wow... is this really the best center option Miami could come up with? They should beg a 41-year-old Zo to come out of retirement if they're this desperate...

He hasn't played in like three years. He plays no defense. Doesn't care about basketball. Lazy fat bum. Don't get the signing. Big men would just destroy him inside and outside.

They've been recruiting him since NY... Let's see how much he focuses when hes asked to rebound and defend in important playoff games. During the reg season when they are rolling over teams he will thrive.

Honestly as a knick fan I'd gamble on curry more than resigning Jeffries for the vet min.

The defensive anchor they needed.

Their no longer the big 2.5, their now the big 3.5

CUrry hasn't played in three years. Theres no point. We heard a "slimmer" Eddy Curry before in 2009. LMAO. At least Jeffries cares to play sort of.

Bad signing. This guy has not played alot of basketball over the last few years. They are better off signing Kwame Brown if they are settling for Curry.

I don't know what the Heat front office are thinking. They are complete fools. It just makes me appreciate Geoff Petrie even more for signing Chuck Hayes. At least we don't get Eddy Curry. If I'm lebron or wade I am banging my head against the wall right now.

Even a healthy motivated Curry is a poor rebounder and defensive player.
Good post player though if healthy.

The only thing Eddy Curry will ever anchor is the drive thru at Burger King.

It was a mix. Serious about the Heat being the big 2.5 now, but sarcastic about saying Curry can be anything other than a fat slob who eats everyone's food.

That's what I don't understand. At best, even at "peak" potential, Eddy Curry was never known as a rebounder/defender.

Pittman can't be that bad, can he?

no risk move.

You can all bemoan the HEAT...but the centers out there laughed at the MLE... so the HEAT really didnt have many options.

One of you making fun of this... please provide an alternative.

Pittman can't be that bad, can he?He's not. Pitt's biggest problem is that he doesn't have the 10 years of NBA experience that Riley/Spo covet. He's a young player and will make mistakes, but that's ok because he will grow, like every player had to at some point. The Heat are better off searching for answers at C and PG through the draft than they are in this year's FA (or future FAs, for that matter).

I thought they would have made a play for Przybilla.

Decent player for the money thats not afraid to mix it up and play some D. And he would be the only center on the roster that knows what to do with the ball under the hoop.

Not the best center but would be much more relevant in the big picture than SB/Cheeseburger Eddy.

They may as well brought back Dampier/JMag

And correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you have a decent rebounder and defender playing Center last year in big Joel Anthony?

It is Big Z's minutes that the heat needed to replace. No harm in giving Curry a chance to prove he has it again i camp...

Eddy Curry continues to do what he can to catch the eye of the Miami Heat.

Trainer Tim Grover told the Miami Herald that since Curry’s workout with the Heat in late June, he has dropped another 28 pounds and is now at 300.

I agree. To channel my inner Screamin A Smith, the last time we saw Curry, he was a bonafide scrub. No disrespect but the man was a scrub.

But this is low-risk, high-reward for the Heat. If he actually is slimmer and can provide anything for Miami, then good for them. If he blows, not a big deal- everyone was expecting that anyway.

I like the move, if hes good/serviceable we keep him, if not we cut him and move on. Its not like his contract is that expensive.Taking a chance on a guy that once averaged 20 points a night is hardly the worst thing you could do. Plus apparently hes been working out with Tim Grover who is like a god trainer and has trained the likes of wade, jordan, and tmac.

I remember when Eddy looked like Plaxico Burress shedding all that weight to then have his knee give out and gain it all back. Such a waste of talent.
Imo the best team for Eddy to turn his career around is Phoenix because of Nash and their medical staff.

If you want to know how this is going to go, study the Fat Albert/Patriots saga.

The thread when he was signed was much like this one. Most fans calling him a slob and a loser, fans of the team that signed him somehow trying to justify the deal.

Eddie Curry does not have the talent to play in this league, that much was evidenced by him not being able to play in this league. Waste of a signing by the Heat in my opinion but if youre desperate for a C, I guess you cant really take your pick. Hes gonna slow them down, has no offensive game and is very poor on defense.
