For my Kings folks, don't give up on the idea of free agent center Samuel Dalembert returning just yet. I spoke with him today and he said: "Now, we (the Kings) have players with 1 year more experience, knowing exactly what it takes, and I see the hope."

Dalembert said he likes the moves the Kings have made, most notably picking up former teammate John Salmons: "I see the future for them."

Of course it doesn't hurt that he's well aware the Kings have to spend some $18 million to reach minimum payroll by opening night. As for Dalembert taking Miami's $5 mil midlevel (over 4 yrs), I told him I just don't see it happening, to which he said while laughing, "Anybody ever tell you you’re too smart for your own good?"

Dont count him off the Kings just yet...

He'd be stupid to come back but w/e this article doesnt say much either...
I'm sure Riley will try Chandler or Nene first anyway.

I'd gladly take him....He showed quite some promise in CHA and I think he can get even more productive here.

Yeah how dumb to try to make the most money you can considering he's going to retire at almost half the age normal people do.

He's not bad. It's just because his name is Kwame Brown.

this guy wants his paper.

he wants to play for a good team...but won't sacrifice the paper IMO. S/T seems a likely scenario.

In a few years he won't even be worth the MLE. This is why the NBA has so many bad contracts. Someone will pay this guy and he will flop.

Funny how when the Knicks thread said we are chasing Kwame it's a joke. Him going to the Heat makes perfect sense tho.

Why does promise in CHA take you to a shopping site?

We can offer kwame more than the min and more than 1 year..NY is saving cap for 2012, they will not give out anything more than vet min.

NY has the full MLE this year, they can offer Kwame or any other FA $5m on a 1 year deal.

For a team like NY who has 1 or 2 open roster spots and money to burn, it makes sense. They would rather overpay for 1 year then commit past that.

Wouldn't hurt NY at all to give him $5m for 1 year. Maybe on a "wink wink" that he would then come back at the vet min next year. Thats sort of what they did with Duhon, they overpaid him for 2 years so that he wouldn't take the 3 year deal ORL was offering.

nope, i've said since the start i'd rather have kwame over sam.
heck, for the money, i'd stay with JA over sam and his inflated contract.

But... How... Could he possibly not... Want to take a pay cut... To play for the almighty Miami Heat?

My brain does not compute.

My point is that if the Heat can get Kwame, who had a solid season last year, for a cheaper price than what he'd have to pay Dalembert to get him down here, I'd take it without question.

If the Heat acquire Kwame, or any half-formidable center, they are a lot closer to a championship than if the Knicks do the same.
