I would swap out T-Mac for Manu. Switch Deron and Westbrook. Swap out Hibbert for Horford. Swap Lopez for Noah. The rest looks okay off the top of my head.

Why is it comical to have someone that PSD voted best pg in 2010 as number 1? He will have the entire Nets team to himself. And Chris Bosh was first that came to my mind, I think he will be angry at all the hate he got last year and come into this year wanting to the ring and being 100 times better.

Yeah but i seen your post and youre one of the few true basketball fans that actually recognizes players who are playing at a high level regardless of their age or position.

ANYWAYS
PG. Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, Steve Nash, Rusell Westbrook, Deron Williams
SG. Kobe Bryant, Dwayne Wade, Joe Johnson, Eric Gordon, James Harden
SF. Kevin Durant, Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Andre Iguodala, Rudy Gay
PF. Dirk Nowitzki, Amare Stoudemire, Paul Gasol, Blake Griffin, Carlos Boozer
C. Dwight Howard, Joakim Noah, Andrew Bynum, Marc Gasol, Marcin Gortat

Im going to go a little further with this and add
6th man. Lamar Odom, Jason Terry, Jared Dudley, Omar Asik, Brandon Roy(comeback year as a 6th man)

I think CP3, Rose, Deron, Holiday, and Wall are top 5 PG's this year.

Holiday is a stretch, but I do think he moves into the top 10 for sure. I was impressed by his growth as a player from the end of his rookie year to the end of last year. I think Holiday and Lowry move into the top 10 PG's.

Give me Kobe over wade!
His knee and ankles are heeled and all I'm hearing is that he is jumping out of the gym looking like the old Kobe.
I predict an MVP bounce back season for Kobe something like 28-6-6

Lol @ all the people putting Rose AND Westbrook above Deron.

He's been working out all off-season and is way more efficient then both Rose and Westbrook, he's also a better passer and defender.

You just stated why I have a huge problem putting Rose over Deron. I did it here, but you listed the exact reason. Show me that complete dominance again.

I am not trying to be a homer at all, most of you know I keep it real. But I can't think of a PF entering this season I would want on my roster more than Kevin Love outside Dirk, Gasol, and Blake.

Thanks for the welcome, I'm also a fellow Hawkeye, so I won't let the fact your a t-wolves fan get me down.

This is a kind of wildcard prediction for me. There is no doubt CP3 is better than Westbrook right now, but given his history of injuries and the potential of Westbrook, I think Russell has the chance to break out. Still after seeing the amazing playoff performance by CP3 I'll admit it is a longshot.

Based on last season I can place Rose on Par with Deron, he was successful and closed the Gap. I still think Paul, Deron, Rondo and Kidd/Nash are better PGs than he is but I won't argue if people consider him a top 5 pg now.

For Love he had a monster season and made Amare in particular look like a rookie however it's too small a sample IMO. Winning shouldn't be a huge factor to rank players since some are just placed in awful situations. However before I say Young or Griffin is better than Amare for example I need to see some replication and winning success to better rank them. That's how I do it.

It's hard to get recognition when you are a star on a small market. I can see why LOve not getting much praise as a top PF would bother you.

I don't think Love has a case against Bosh. Only reason I have Bosh #5 on my list is the situation he's in.

Amare can carry the offense load and dominate, I didn't see Love do that as often or in the manner Amare did last season.

I'm a huge fan of Kevin Love, if this were the Top 6 he'd be on my list. Don't think he's a true #1 though and I don't think he'll have to be if the talent pans out in Minny.

Since the injury Paul doesn't have the same explosion and though he is still a great player, he's not the transcendent player he once was.

I agree to an extent, but I can not possibly ignore the fact that Rose just had a far better season than any of these PG's outside Paul. I am also hoping he does it again, so we can rank him properly.

For Love he had a monster season and made Amare in particular look like a rookie however it's too small a sample IMO.

Love's advanced numbers suggested such an outburst. I still think in order for him to enter the top 3-5 PF convo, he needs to repeat it, but I am confident he will.

Winning shouldn't be a huge factor to rank players since some are just placed in awful situations. However before I say Young or Griffin is better than Amare for example I need to see some replication and winning success to better rank them. That's how I do it.

Fair enough. Love individually just had a season that matches up with anything Amare has done, INDIVIDUALLY.

Well, he was recognized and given an all star berth, and I am fine with him getting passed over because he is on a crappy team. For now....

Paul is the best PG we have seen since Stockton. I understand your homer instincts give Rose the nod, but Paul is as good as it gets.

I really don't think putting Rose over Paul needs to be a homer pick at this point. I can certainly see why many people would favor Paul over Rose, especially if you believe in the value of a pure point guard. Still it is easy to make a case for Rose being the best pg in the league today. There contributions to their teams last year were fairly similar on the offensive side of the ball. On the defensive side, I used to believe Paul was superior, then I read this (http://bleacherreport.com/articles/813678-nba-power-rankings-defensively-ranking-every-starting-point-guard-in-the-nba/page/2) article and it swayed my opinion. At the end of the day I believe having a star player that is capable of putting up points is the most important ingredient to winning. If you don't have a player that can make the tough shots, your team isn't going anywhere. Typically you want that to be your sg and not your pg, but alot of basketball theory gets thrown out the window when you have players as uniquely talented as those seen in the nba. For example Dirk doesn't play "pure" PF and that's a good thing.

That being said if were talking CP3 from 2008-2009 then there is no question here unless Rose can continue to step his game up. Unfortunately Paul has dropped off a bit since then.

not this season nxt 1
dirk will not be that good anymore even tho he a lil overrated at the moment just a lil all ofense no defense is not good but hey the man is really good at scoring

Dirk will still be at this level for at least 3 more years. He's a player of finesse. And Griffin isn't good at defense....

of course you will say that your a mav fan lol every player has to start fading away just like kobe and duncan they were the best at there position but they aint anymore dont expect dirk to be on the top for longer cmon he is like what 32 to 33 something around there the only player that i know of over 34 and still dominated the league for 2 more yrs was jordan
oh and 1 last thing dirk aint good at defense either

Dirk isn't like those 2 however. He is huge, and can shoot from anywhere. That will age much better than a low post banger, or a smaller guy who has always used athletic ability. Dirk will be a top 5-6 player another few years.

Oh, and he is a better defender than given credit for. Has been for years.

You just stated why I have a huge problem putting Rose over Deron. I did it here, but you listed the exact reason. Show me that complete dominance again.

I am not trying to be a homer at all, most of you know I keep it real. But I can't think of a PF entering this season I would want on my roster more than Kevin Love outside Dirk, Gasol, and Blake.

i know you're not a homer, so when you put love over amare i fall into a great need of a word that i can use instead of homer.

huh? I get you think Love is obviously not in the top 5, but make your case instead of telling me this son! :)

Blake Griffin is not better than Amar'e. What has he proven that Amar'e can't do?

Nothing, and I agree; he's not better than Amar'e. I was predicting he will pass Stat by season's end.

Love is such a great combo for his position. I know his stats may be inflated cause of a poor team but for a player to average 15 rpg in todays game is very impressive and to mix that with how good of a shooter he is puts him up there as a top PF, in his third year!
I see good things for this guy. Very good things.

Hawkeye15 fought the good fight for Kevin Love in this thread and as usual when the topic is Kevin Love he is always right.
