do u think that having another year off because of the lockout that Greg Oden will be better off and we could finally see some very good production out of him without injuries?

i don't see how everyone else taking time off helps his injuries.

if it prevents him rushing back too early then sure, but at this point i think he's likely to be pretty cautious anyway.

it would make him an UFA in 2012 if there is no season

this. At this point I think we're looking 'broken body' vs 'not broken body'. A year is enough to heal from the harshest of surgeries, why would any more time make that much difference?

He needs to lose weight!

Hes too heavy for his knees, hes listed as 285, i think he has a chance if he can lose a good 35-40 pounds and add some streght. He's very talented but always been injured, if he can stay on the floor he'll learn how to be better (not commiting fouls for example) and he can turn into a really good player, but thats a big if.

he can't do both. Strength adds weight. It's not like he's a blob losing fat when he works out. All that weight is muscle, bone and organs. If he loses weight, he loses muscle and strength.

If Greg can stay healthy and cut down on the fouls, he's easily a starting center. I feel sorry for Portland fans, they would be a dynasty in the making, if it weren't for these injuries.

Greg Oden is beyond injured. It is more than just a lingering chronic injury that affects guys like Roy or John Wall. Greg Oden suffers a major injury every time he steps on the court.
