Durant is an awesome guy! How many players would actually follow through with something like that? I like Durant 100x more now!

That's someone who is humble and not high headed. LeBron and all the other STARS should take notice. Durant will have fans from all over the world, this is just a great move.

Stuff like this is why I love KD so much.

Part of me wishes the C's got him in the draft when he came out (even though that would mean no title with the big 3, and Pierce being traded).

You will never see a Kobe or Lebron do this (as the kid suggested). Maybe Lebron, but he would just drive by your house, laugh at how poor you are and drive home (a la NBA finals press conference).

thats cool, KD seems like a good dude, still down to earth. Hopefully he stays in OKC for his career, its a smaller market that actualy deserves their team.

Really cool story. KD's seems like a really great guy.

Anyone think LeBron sees the good publicity on this and tries to pull something similar? (Obviously selfishly just for his image if he does)

i love KD, great person...but i dont see what the love fest is for on this.....its not like he did it for a charity or a sick kid...he did it because he was bored and since hes a pro athlete and a celeb everyone wants to hang out with him....he's just living the dream life

That's a great little story. Can you imagine tweeting back and forth and him actually asking for your number? That alone, i'd be blown away.
He probably told the kid, "listen, i'll play, but you CAN'T give this number to anyone".

ive been saying it for the last couple of years that KD is the most humble NBA player in the league not to mention on his way of being the best player,,,,,the kid is just seems to be an awesome human being

It's still a cool thing to involve your fans like that. Most athletes would just play a game with their inner circle, but KD reached out to the fans and followed through.

im not hating on the guy, he's one of the classiest players in all of sports....jut saying it must be nice to ask about football on twitter, and have a million people reply asking for him to play....we cant do that!

Why does this always have to turn into a Lebron wouldn't do this.... type of thread.

Lebron already did this about a month ago, there was an article about it on yahoo or something. google it.

Anyways I am sick of people saying o I bet lebron will try and do this for his publicity.

Just appreciate what KD did and stop bashing on other players its getting really old.

Actually, I wouldn't have minded LeBron the basketball talent coming to the Bulls. But I didn't want LeBron the person coming anywhere near the team and influencing Rose and the rest of the crew. For that reason, I wasn't too worried when LeBron took his talents, along with his insatiable ego and knack for 4th quarter collapses, to South Beach. Despite Wade being older and more prone to injuries, my number one option was to get him and Bosh.

I sense someone just making something up cause they thought it would help their argument. :eyebrow:

I'm amazed that some of you pretend to recognize class, but then turn this into an opportunity to bash LeBron.

You know, you don't need to be Kevin Durant to be classy.

Two of the NBA’s biggest stars could be headed to the football field - and very soon.
The flag football field.

A day after Kevin Durant - who certainly has kept himself busy during the NBA lockout with appearances at New York’s Rucker Park, Dyckman Park and Baltimore and Oklahoma City charity hoops games - participated in a flag football game at Oklahoma State on Halloween night, LeBron James is throwing down the gauntlet.

As pictures and video of Durant’s four touchdown, three interception performance for an OK State fraternity circulated the Internet, it seems “King James” is feeling somewhat unimpressed.

James (@KingJames) tweeted early Tuesday morning “Team KD35 vs Team King James do i hear? Flag football. I have the best of field here in Akron. Day game or underthe lights.”

Durant (@KDTrey5) responded shortly thereafter: “Set it up! My team ready.”
Suddenly, a new rivalry was born.

Durant’s flag football experience started as what looked like a rhetorical tweet: “This lockout is really boring..anybody playing flag football in OKC..I need to run around or something!”
But it was no joke.

Durant showed up, played quarterback on offense and safety on defense.

Afterward, he tweeted: “I had soooo much fun at Oklahoma st. playing flag football! Shoutout my new buddy @groverbey for inviting me! I threw 4 tds and had 3 ints!!”
George Overbey is the owner of the @groverbey Twitter account, who Durant credits for inviting him.

But can Durant dominate James, a high school football star at St. Mary-St. Vincent who has even half-joked about an NFL tryout?

If the NBA doesn't open its doors soon, we may all find out.

You Lebron haters are ****ing annoying. Shut the **** up and keep his name out your mouth for two seconds... My god.

For the record, KD did post the question to see if anyone was playing first. Still, this is very very impressive. Durant never crossed me as a douche, but I was never sold on his humility or anything because everyone said the same about Lebron and every other young star. This, however, is radically different and very cool.
