We're winless in 3 and yet Hank has a 1.86 GAA...INCREDIBLE. He keeps that up and we'll win a lot of games this year.

Ya, but if our offense sputters at the pace it's been on we might not...I think the ship will right itself, but it's time to get things going. Need to get some wins here so we aren't fighting for a 8th spot again.

that first line against the islanders was unbelievable. i know the results werent there (gaborik did score once) but the chances they created were amazing. stepan really fits in well with that line.

also, they cant have a lot of penalties. they self destruct sometimes. when the rangers have 5 men on the ice, especially the first line, its a tough 5-5 matchup for the opposing team.

not having staal hurts too. and even though they havent had a win yet, there really competitive and think that they will win some of these close games later in the season by having this experience early on.

Second line needs to create more chances (I don't mention the third line because there were too many penalties for them to see the ice). At one point well into the Isles game, Gaborik and Richards had half of the Rangers' shots on goal.

I've always wanted Stepan on the top line, why he was being used in a checking role was beyond me, and even worse having Fedotenko in a scoring role...just didn't make sense.

Considering this matchup is in Oct, you guys are catching Van at the right time. However, Kesler returning to the lineup should give the team a big boost. Looking forward to seeing how Kesler and Hodgson compliment each other. Best of luck.

Hopefully Dubs wakes up and does something. Other then committing penalties, i havent even noticed him.

Kesler returning and their having a "memorial service" type thing for Rypien before the game...

Let's just say the crowd in Vancouver will be rocking tonight. Gotta come out strong, if not, we're in for some serious trouble. Especially if we keep on taking penalties.

torts will be giving our team a memorial service if we don't come out hard. they know it

annnd followed by a poor pp. still dominating the game though.
where is everyone on this forum?

They have come out hard but PP still looks bad and they have to start scoring on it. I think us and the Jets are the only team without a PP goal.

What an incredible pace so far.

I think Erixon has looked good in the 1st and better each game. Hope to hear good news on Staal sometime soon, and then I would probably still look to keep Erixon up.

richards is definitely helping gaborik. hes been very visible so far this season

Hank is the only positive on this team.

We have absolutely no discipline.

Haha another penalty. Cant keep giving them up like this. Alot of pushups tomorrow.

This is a great gameplan. Give the best PP team in the league more and more chances.

Rupp with a great follow. Way to put it way there big man...

and as I'm typing this, Prust commits a boarding penalty. Jesus christ, he's not even gonna make it to the next game.

Un-****ing-believable. What a 3rd period. Not 1 goal from the first line either. This is great

Awsome 3rd !!
Worth staying up to see this one

J4KOP99

This was the complete opposite of what I thought the 3rd would be like.

very nice play by fedotenko to hold it up and wait for the rush to come on and a nice pass to get it through to boyle.
that's our identity- ridiculous goaltending and taking advantage of mistakes/opportunities. its going to be hard to win games if we cant have sustained offensive pressure

It's the Canucks. I think we would all agree that they are a much more complete team than we are.

This is also a Rangers team without its #1 defender and another top defender.

It's also very early in the season and the Rangers haven't been able to get on any normal schedule or in any routine whatsoever.

I'll take a 3-0 lead against the Canucks with less than 5 to go in the 3rd any day of the week.

Another great ****ing play. Starts with Richards, McD with ANOTHER wonderful play and then finishes with Gabs.

are my eyes fooling me? was that offensive beauty? an actual pretty play??? is this possibllleee

nyanks79
10-19-2011, 12:39 AM
I said all of last year that Mcdounaghs skating is too good to not get involved in the offense. You saw all of that right there.

Goals when each line was on the ice. Have to like that.

What a great game for the King. He kept us in it until our offense finally found their way.

-Lundqvist was absolutely lights out. What a fun game to watch.

Also, I heard Sam or Joe say that we should expect an update on Staal tomorrow, but what about Sauer or Wolski... do we have any idea how long they will be out?

weren't people on this forum saying before the season that we can contend for a high playoff spot and possibly even a cup? you can't go into games against the canucks for example, saying theyre better than us.
its early in the season, agreed. staal makes us more complete, yes.
but if we have high aspirations its time to get going and stop making excuses.

great 3rd period by the whole squad. flashes of veteran savvy from richards and fedotenko. henrik continues to surprise me. he looked like henrik from the playoff run a few years ago with jagr. standing on his head

Neither should be out much longer. Sauer is traveling, and Wolski is day to day as well i think.

There both day to day and skating. Wolski, it sounded like they could have pushed him if they really wanted to and he was practicing with the team. Sauer was off to the side I think and they said his shot was pretty weak because of his shoulder. Probably a couple days for each, but Sauer out longer.

Haha the winning hat.

Epic third period. Hopefully we can build on this win. Calgary, Edmonton, and Winnipeg are all games that we can win.

dashripdot
10-19-2011, 07:41 AM
McDonagh the point machine. He must have felt bad for Hank and decided to put the team on his shoulders for the third period. Even Gaborik looked surprised that somebody finally got him the puck on the far post. Montreal fans have to be off gagging in a corner when they think of how Gainey screwed them on the Gomez deal.

Vancouver has a lot of talent and badly outplayed the Rangers for 40-plus minutes, but Luongo is presently the opposite of Lundqvist and they cannnot count on him at this point in the season. I thought while watching this game that if the Rangers could get some shots on him he might cave and that's exactly what happened.

And Bieksa is a sack of ****.

Where are the Hank haters at now? He's been amazing so far.
