From ESPN.com (http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7099648/nba-lockout-frequently-asked-questions)

Strong rumblings continue to be conveyed to ESPN.com about the league preparing a secret schedule that starts Dec. 1 and still manages to pump out 82 games. The New York Post has likewise reported that NBA schedule-maker Matt Winick has quietly drafted a variety of contingency plans spanning anywhere from 50 to 74 games.

Yeah this is ridiculous, No one wants to hear about how many games will be played at this point, Lets discuss that after the CBA is signed sealed delivered.

Bulls would get screwed and have a game Monday in NY, Tuesday in Miami and Wednesday in LA.

no season this year

I disagree.

The players will give in soon, as they should.

There is NO WAY they give up a whole season worth of cheques.

I don't like it.. Teams would have to travel long distances in very short amount of time.

They should extend it into the summer.

Bad for veteran teams, not so bad for youth teams.

It's going to be tough on older teams if the league tries to squeeze 4 or 5 games into every week because of all this.

they should just have an ncaa type tournament. it would be exciting and it would bring any and every fan that gave up on the nba back because it would be different and very exciting to watch. everone would be talking about it.

How did you figure this out?

I don't think there will be 82 games unless the season is extended to early July.

I could care less about this at this point. There is still no deal and it could be a while before there is one...

Oh it definitely isn't personal. But the team I root for isn't necessarily a young team so this certainly won't help them.

an 82 game season that starts on december 1st doesn't make any sense to me
