50/50 or not at all???
Looks like the NBA will not budge and the players will have to decide if they want to play and pay. 51/49 would have worked for me, but the article says some owners won't budge off 50%.
Two regional union meetings might get us back on track. Hope cooler heads prevail.

I don't see why this is so hard to comprehend for the players. You play basketball, you get half. They run the business, they get the other half.

Agree with you 100%
They are really going to mess this whole season and maybe ruin the excitement the past year brought for years to come. The owners are just that; they OWN the business and now they want it back.
Hunter/Fish/ and ALL you players need to figure this out fast

Nah, there has to be a season sometime. I just want it now.
Rudy's back to playing in these lockout league games and doing great......Marc was on the championship Euro team and ZBo managed to stay out of trouble. We Grizz fans are ready for some roundball!!!!!!

If life and business were only that simple.

Basketball and business and billionaires isn't rocket science.
If they have said they won't budge on less/more than 50/50, the NBA as we know it will go down the tubes.

Well, after it goes down the tube, let's see what shape the excrement takes.

It may not be rocket science, but it also isn't "50/50....no backsies"

I hate the NBA now. I hope the league falls apart. I blame this on the players - especially Dwayne Wade.

Ive been saying for quite a time that the "new" cba deal will simply be EXACTLY THE SAME THAT IT IS RIGHT NOW ( in terms of guaranted contracts, salary cap, Mle and the rest of exceptions, max salarys and rules) but with a split 50/50, nothig more nothing less.

its funny- by the time the players lose their first round of pay checks, they will already have forfitted about 260 million dollars... while the current difference is 80 million per season

The players are standing up for what's right.

How many people blaming them would accept being suspended 3 times in the past 20 years from your job and not being allowed to work unless you took a significant paycut each time, with the last paycut being the most significant?

I miss basketball, but I also believe in fighting for what is right, and I support the players 100% until the owners are willing to NEGOTIATE.

The players are ghetto *******s and are completely to blame. I hope the season is shut down so the NBA loses half it's fans.

umm you must feel the same way if not more bout the NFL players then. They just had a lockout and they commit more crimes than NBA players.

I've been an NBA fan for 30 years - this behavior by the players is embarrassing. There's a number of people that feel just like me. Rough times ahead for the NBA.

And I've been an NBA fan for 49 years.

Do you know the story of how NBA players first started to get benefits?

50/50 split and they could have got the ball rolling. They are a disgrace.

Times are much different now - you can't compare now to back when basketball was hardly a profitable sport.

You can bet it was profitable for the owners.

I have to agree to disagree with you. I'm with the owners on this issue. I think Stern is a crook and I think players are acting like children though.
