Some drafts can be deep with good players, but this draft is deep with star players lol. Insane draft...

Teams out of the lotto can possibly get a star.

i have just a gut feeling his game will diminish once he is playing with people his size and i dare him to try dribbling like that in the nba being 6'10" it doesnt work haha he wont be a true center he has athleticism but throughout that highlight it was pretty much dunks or drives not many post moves or anything showing how his footwork is in the paint

millerandco
10-07-2011, 10:43 AM
he looks great. but its hard to really assess since he's not playing against anyone his size or level in these vids

10-07-2011, 10:43 AM
I agree that nobody can actually KNOW. The comment right above me makes some very good points. But I do agree that this draft is very deep. I hope my Kings can be competitive this season but in the end lose a lot of games so they can keep their pick and get someone good. I definitely wouldn't mind Drummond at all. He does sort of have Stoudemire-like agility, but I don't think he's as quick. And I haven't seen many moves or mid-range jumpers from him as well.

Lucky.
10-07-2011, 10:55 AM
He looks like he could be REALLY good, There was some REALLY bad D in that video though. Kinda reminds you of Blake Griffin with all those dunks.

10-07-2011, 11:52 AM
Not to be the party pooper, but I wasn't all that impressed. Yeah, he's a good player, but he's playing against people half his size.

The only impressive thing in that video was a few of those passes.

It would behoove teams like ATL, DEN, CHA, and NO to tank the season for this guy. If im Orlando or New Orleans i trade my superstar for the best deal i can get and then tank the season. Fastest route to getting back up. Thats how good this draft will be. Imagine if ORL trdes Dwight then lands a BETTER Dwight in Drummond? That would be ironic

Reminds me of Amare(without the mid range) with Webber's passing and ball handling.

He doesn't remind me of Dwight at all. I don't think he'll be as good of a defender as him in the NBA. Though I believe he'll be better than Amare on defense.

Honestly my co worker Jake is very good friends with him. He's motivated. He really wants to go at with the top players in the country. He also wants to win a championship. At S.T Thomas Moore he'd get benched if he didn't play hard. I remember a game where he didn't play the 2nd half because he gave up 10 points to the other teams center. He's got heart. He's got the will and drive. Mix that with his talent and your going to see a monster in the making. He wont be a C though he'll be a PF

True dat,Raps only have two players on big contrasts and one expires soon, lots of young talent and they will have a high draft pick this season and 10 plus mil to spend when the lockout ends "preying for marc gasol or nene" add a harrison barnes or drummond and we good! Nets roster is mad weak after D Will...even though I think he will stay, that damn jay z and new arena is a great recruiting tool

looks like he's gotta alot of potential, but also looks a little uncoordinated when dribbling. When he gets to the NBA he better get it in his head that he's not a point guard or he'll he'll cause a lot of steals for the other team.

Looks like he could be a very good player because of his combo of size, athleticism, and skill.

But as a guy who watches highlight videos like it's my religion, I can't say I haven't seen guys dominate like this before.

nobody knows if he is going to be a superstar. alot can happen. injuries, bad luck, not able to reach potential and cant translate amateur talent to the NBA just like guys like kwame who was picked no.1 obviously with a reason. oden who got injured, morrison, livingston just to name a few

Sly Guy
11-23-2011, 02:29 PM
not that I doubt the guy's ability, but these highschool highlight reels make me laugh. It's always one 6'9" guy against a team of midgets. If he isn't putting making highlights then he's doing something wrong. Seriously, a baseline jumper from behind the backboard against a triple team? That's not good basketball. It's just a guy taking a jumper cuz he knows no one can get up high enough to block the shot.

I liked some of the sweet passes he was making. The block and dunks are a little less impressive because he is head-and-shoulders above a lot of the guys he's palying against, and I'd like to see more jump shots (though he hit a couple of nice ones in the mixed, espcially that one that went over the backboard).

I completely agree that Daniels will be a nice player if not really good. However Drummond has the most potential on that roster. Its not fair to say he's not even the best player on the roster...He's a Freshman thats like 3 or 4 games into his college career. Nappier and Lamb have NCAA championship experience.
