Anyone know? I know it's CC v. Verlander for Yankees/Tigers

I'm guessing Halladay will start for the Phillies.

Outside that, not sure. Anyone know what the deal is?

I'll edit this so we can compile a list:

Tigers at Yankees:

Justin Verlander vs. C.C. Sabathia

Rays at Rangers:

Matt Moore vs. C.J. Wilson

Cardinals at Phillies:

Kyle Lohse vs. Roy Halladay

Diamondbacks at Brewers:

Ian Kennedy vs. Yovani Gallardo

Pretty much just not confirmed on Shields and Garcia, though they seem to be the most likely candidates.

I know Ian Kennedy will start for the Diamondbacks. Beyond that, I don't know.

CJ Wilson will be going for Texas, but I'm not sure who will be on the hill for Tampa. I believe it is Davis' turn in the rotation, unless Shields goes on 4 days rest

Ugh, we gotta face Tampa's pitchers. :(

James Shield or David Price is the best bet. I think they go even on a short rest. Shield most likely though over Price.

Price pitched tonight. No chance he goes in game 1. It could be Shields.

If they want to use Shields on that short of rest, I'm a happy camper

are they going to use matt moore in the pen?
i'd love to see him get a start, but i understand if they want to use him late in a game

Isn't Kyle Lohse going for STL? Cause i know he was going to pitch tomorrow if there was a extra game.

I'm worried that the Cards might be throwing Lohse on Sat (he would have pitched tomorrow).

Garcia hopefully has game 1.

Detroit is going to be hard for the Yankees to beat.

Verlander and Fister twice in a five game series is a real advantage

I read somewhere that Leyland wont throw Verlander on short rest. So while he would go in game 5, either Penny or Porcello would likely throw game 4. He will not get the chance to throw both Verlander and Fister twice in that case. I think it's a mistake, but I'm not Leyland.

According to ESPN.com, those are correct.

Now they're saying it's not Shields for Tampa, but Matt Moore. The guy is making his 2nd major league start in the first game of the playoffs. Wow.

Matt Moore will start Game 1 of the Rays' ALDS matchup against the Rangers.
A risky move by Rays manager Joe Maddon, but one that has the potential to pay off in a major way. Moore, baseball's top pitching prospect, has registered a 2.89 ERA and 15/3 K/BB ratio through his first 9 1/3 major league innings. He fanned 11 hitters in his first major league start last Thursday against the Yankees. James Shields will start Game 2 vs. Texas.

He looked good in his first start against the Yankees. Starting game 1 of the ALDS is a whole other story.

I also read it will be Kyle Lohse for St. Louis, Garcia won't go until Game 4 if necessary. Seems stupid to me.

I hope I get a chance to see this game. It's an interesting move to put Moore in there and I hope he does really well.

Matt Moore in game 1?

Hope TB is happy with just making the playoffs in dramatic fashion, cause they ain't going nowhere in the playoffs with this typical Maddon bonehead move.

Garcia hopefully has game 1.

Yahoo has Lohse in game 1 and Edwin Jackson in Game 2...I heard that on XM Radio today as well....I can't imagine not getting Garcia in there before Game 4 (since Carp has Game 3)....

I certainly hope that it's Lohse and then Jackson....

I haven't seen Moore pitch yet. I have heard lots of buzz though. It might be a lot of pressure, but sometimes being young and ignorant to the situation is a good thing. Really looking forward to seeing him go against such a strong lineup.

I saw a little bit of his start against the Yankees. Very impressive. I believe part of his success stemmed from the Yankees never seeing him before, but he did strike out 11 guys in 5 innings. That's pretty amazing.
