Yes I know there is a thread with Pelfrey already, but we have been discussing over the past few months in the Mets forum about who we would rather have. I say Capuano, thoughts?

Pelfrey's younger so I guess him. Both are pretty iffy.

Pelfrey for me.

Pelfrey has Capuano beat by a mile in the health department.

Since '08 when he became a full-time starter he's averaged 32 starts a year and 195 IP. The problem with Pelfrey is what you get in those innings. He was good in '08 and '10, but sucked in '09 and '11, so for our sake hopefully he's an "every other year" pitcher and will pitch decently in '12. Haha.

If Pelfrey learns how to throw his damn sinker again I'd take him because of his age and durability, but right now I'd take Capuano.

Yes I hope he is an every other year pitcher as well, but I have serious doubts that he can ever replicate his success from the past, at least not with us.

If Capuano stays healthy, he should be fine.
