All in their prime? 1996 easily.

I like '96 if they started:

Nash
Allen
Bryant
Camby
Wallace

Elite defensive front line, with some brilliant three point shooting and offensive facilitation.

obviously 1996 becuase more players of that draft have won a championship other wise than dwayne wade in 2003 milicic was basically a practice player/benchwarmer after they figured out he was a bust

96 sounds dope..
dont know how they will gel on the court but it cant hurt having nash distributing instead of iverson

I don't know about prime Kobe, Iverson, Marbury, and Antoine on the same team.

Swap Darko with Perkins and I'm liking the 03 team's chances.

I like '03s balance alot more than the '96 team to be honest with you.

Do you realize the other players on the 96 team? Do you know how ridicules Stojakovic was in his prime? Ray Allen nuff said. Prime Ben Wallace and Marcus Camby is a total defensive juggernaut that would make almost any offensive lineup cry. And Nash distributing the ball at point to Iverson and Kobe would set records in points and assists.

I realize the talent is lopsided in favor of '96, but I assume this is sort of 7 game all-star game matchup. Not an actual well coached detail planned championship 7 game series where everyone is playing 100% of their ability.

I think Iverson, Kobe, and Walker shoot them out of the games trying to one up eachother.

Even if they did (imo that wouldn't happen with Nash at point and I would rather play prime Jermaine Oneal then Walker), the defense would compensate for that. Seriously, the 96 team has two players with a combine total of 5 defensive player of the year awards (Ben Wallace and Marcus Camby).

96 all the way

they have nash at point running the offense and a way better defensive front court than 03' , camby & wallace in they prime, forget about it

now if lebron ran PG and allowed Melo & wade to start than my opinion would of been more difficult.. but I'd take that 96 draft any day of the week

96 easily. Wallace and Camby would make Kaman and Bosh their *****es.

In their primes, it's not even a contest. 96 controls the paint and has more rings, scoring titles, MVPs, All NBA Defensive nods than the 03.
Easier way, rank the players in their primes.
1. Kobe - 96
2. Lebron - 03
3. Wade - 03
4 - Iverson - 96
5 - Nash - 96
6 - Melo - 03
7. Allen - 96
8. Wallace - 96
9. O'Neal - 96
10. Marbury - 96 (Yes, in his prime over Bosh)

96 has 7 of the top 10 players.

Wallace

just to be clear, Ben Wallace is undrafted player or is he talkin about Sheed even though he was drafted on 1995.Anyway i'll take 96 class easily.

Wait, Kobe and Iverson in the same and Nash as point guard? I don't know how that's gonna work. 2003 seems more like a team that would have better chemistry. 1996 front court defense is better but Camby and Wallace are no offensive helps at all; On the other hand 2003 perimeter defense would be deadly as well with Hinrich, Wade, and LeBron. And I would like Perkins as 2003 center.

And anyone counting rings here is plain STUPID. 96 players have played for 15 years and 2003 players played for only 8 years. What on earth are you counting rings for? 2003 players are all entering or in their prime. Count rings when their careers are over.

Andrew32
09-28-2011, 03:58 AM
Ring's are a team statistic and thus are reletively worthless when judging individual players.

Team 03 has the two best Guards (IMO) in Prime Wade/Lebron

Team 96 has the better Big's Wallace/Camby.

I say its a very close series maybe go to 7 games but team 96 may narrowly win due mostly to their bigmen defense.

yes, just because of this some players win regularly some win never.I call BS.

yes, just because of this some players win regularly some win never.I call BS.

Good/GOAT players have a very large impact on the defensive and offensive end.

The Best/GOAT also have very high overall production in comparison to their peers.

Some also have unique intagiabals like the amount of defensive attention that demand, High BBall IQ, Passing Ability etc.

However the Key to Winning Rings/Championships is having the right/good supporting Cast and "luck".
By Luck I mean things like what Era/Years the player plays in and Peaks in and what matchups his team gets in the Post Season.

It doesn't matter how good your Star player is if his Teams supporting Cast is bad or doesn't play well when it counts that team will not Contend "period".

Basically the best "Team" will always win not the team with the best "Player"

The 04 Pistons didnt have a single player half as good/impactful as Shaq was but his supporting Cast played like hot trash and they lost. (see what I mean) (They were the better "Team" they didnt have the best player (Shaq).

Players like Jordan/Kareem had really strong supporting Casts when they piled up their rings and obviously the great B.Russell had the best supporting Cast practically every year.

Great Teams win Rings not great Players.

Although the true GOAT's can sometimes win with umimpressive supporting Casts like Hakeem in 94, Shaq in 2000 and Duncan in 2003.

that 03' class is over rated, only 4 elite players in my mind (Lebron,Wade, Melo, Bosh) and between all four only 1 Championship and 2 MVP's.

now look at the '96 class, I see about 4 elite players (Kobe, Iverson, Allen, Nash) but there were many more solid players than the '03 class. Between the 4 elite players from the '96 class, 6 championships and 4 MVP's. Heck throw in Ben Wallace in there too with his 4 DPOY's

Miami fans are ridiculous. How can the 03' team defeat the 96' team when they can't even beat the 2011 Mavs? The 96' team can play Nash at point, have the best catch and shoot player in NBA history in Ray Allen, and still have Kobe to go to when the need a bucket late in the clock. AI in his prime could not he guarded by anyone on that 03' team but I would still have him come off the bench.

Anybody who says Perkins makes a difference is a joke. Prime Wallace >>> Perkins.

What Wallace are we referring to? Ben? He was undrafted..

There was a John Wallace in the 96 draft but he's not in this conversation.

2003 team would blow the **** out of the 96 ballhogs. Kobe and Iverson would be like "gtfo and let me keep shooting!" And Nash will be like "Wait, am I not the PG of this team? Where is the ball?"
