I think he is borderline. He's been a very good pitcher in his career but nothing special. Solid pretty much every single season. But he has always been one of my favourite pitchers so he's getting my biased vote.

The hat is a tough one but he made a name for himself with Oakland, so go with the A's.

No, more pitchers deserve it more than him.

well if that's your reasoning, then let's see who.

Well I'm the only one that voted yes to Hudson but I certainly didn't vote no to Cone. But I'd venture to bet that you'd still wanna have what I am smoking.

I didn't vote so I didn't get to see who voted yes(if anyone did). But yeah not only it's too early for Tim, but his stats will probably decline anyways so I'll foresee a no down the future for me, and it's not based on awards or playoff appearances(something 1 player shouldn't be blamed for) but more so based on his dominance and longevity of 'greatness' at his skill(in this case pitching).

He just wasn't great enough for long enough to be a HOFer.

And btw I totally respect those who said no to Cone. I just didn't share their views that's all and IMO i presented(others did too) enough evidence/stats to prove he was worthy.

I'll take that drug now :p

I don't think it's waaaaaaaaaaaaay to early raise the question about a smallish 36 year old pitcher. As to the question, no. Hall of very good, hall of consistency, probably hall of underappreciated due in no small part to splitting a career between Oakland and Atlanta.

Can the OP of these HOF polls put a thread together listing the players that have been discussed so far and what those results have been, updating it with each new player? It'd be great to review, discuss, and compare how we've voted as a group so far.

Or is there already a thread for that? If so, my bad.

I love me some Huddy, but HOF?? hell no!

If there were a Hall of Very Good, oh without a doubt, he would be there.

x2

Also what about Schilling and Mussina and Cone. Heck I'd vote for Saberhagen ahead of Hudson.

Not a chance. Good pitcher to have on your team but you'd have to let too many other pitchers in if you voted Hudson in.

Only way I see him getting in is to have an incredible 3-4 years before he retires and I don't see that with his age.

He'd probably need a couple Cy Youngs to get in.

I love Hudson but no. Cone I would say yes for and same for Mussina.

Just wondering where you guys feel Roy Oswalt would end up in this convo.
