Correct me if I'm wrong, but by the "2000's" you mean the season of 2000-2001 to the season of 2009-2010. Therefore, this would not include last season?

Have to put T - Mac there.

Over who?

Shaq. Shaq had better years in 90s minus the two he got famous for with Kobe.

1. Shaq
2. Duncan
3. Kobe

Not sure about the rest really but I am 100% of the first 3 and the order they should go in.

5. Dirk

Shaq and Duncan dropped off after 2006 and 2007, for the entire 00s, Kobe was the best player imo

Shaq/Duncan 00-05 >>> Kobe 00-10

Cant fault them for being older.

Even if you do I'd still take those 5 years over Kobe's 10.

Shaq gives you 3 years of GOAT play and then 2-3 seasons of Top 10 GOAT play.
Duncan gives you 5-7 Years of top 4-7 GOAT play.
Kobe gives you 5 years of borderline top 10 GOAT play (01,03,06,07,09)

No way you Rank Kobe ahead of either Bigmen.

Shaq was better than Kobe in 2000-2002, 3 years
Duncan was better than Kobe in 2000, 2003-2004, 3 years

Kobe was better than Shaq in 2003-2009, 7 years
Kobe was better than Duncan in 2001-2002, 2005-2009, 7 years

Zzz.. you've got Homer glasses on.

Shaq was light years better then Kobe from 00-02 and significantly better from 03-05

06 was the first year Kobe was > Shaq and even that is arguable.

The fact that you think Kobe was better then Shaq especially in 04 and 05 proves my point bud.

I can see a "very weak" argument for 03 because that was a great year for Kobe but its obvious Shaq was still far more valuable at that point.

2004, is arguable, but for the 2003-04 season and first 3 rounds of the Playoffs Kobe > Shaq, one series doesnt mean Shaq was a better player
2005 is arguable, since their situations were very different

in 2004 Post-Season Shaq averaged 22/13/2.5/3BPG on damn near 60% shooting
and he anchored the LA Defense.

Kobe averaged 24.5/4/5.5 on 41% shooting.

05 Kobe was injured and messed up team but Shaq was obviously better/more valuable that year.

03 Kobe was great but Shaq was still very Dominant on both ends of the floor especially towards the end of the season and in the playoffs so I cant say Kobe was more valuable that year.

Your probably just looking at "PPG" and thinking that's all that matters but your forgetting stuff like.

Reliability of a players offense. - Shaq

Effect a player has on the opposing teams defense. - Shaq (Consistently dragging 2-3 defenders downlow opening up the court and making life easy for his entire supporting Cast.)

All around production - Shaq (PER - 25) ||| Kobe (PER - 21)

Defensive impact - Shaq by a wide margin. Anchored LA's Defense, protected the painted area and was a great M2M Defender and Shotblocker.

Shaq has a sharp edge in each of these catergories.

Thank you. Let's make this an NBA thread not a Lakers thread. The other 8 players in the top 10 were spectacular. It would be great to hear about them. And yes, I would take Duncan over Shaq in the last 10 years.

In no order: Kobe-Shaq-Duncan-KG-Dirk-Wade-James-Pierce-Kidd-Nash.

Next ten in no order: Howard, Billups, Ray Allen, Iverson, Carmelo, Amare, T-Mac, Webber, Ginobli, Gasol, B. Wallace.

Agree with both lists.
