At Joe Abunassar's Impact League in Vegas last week, one of the more intriguing people there was Jamaal Tinsley -- about 20 pounds less of him -- diming people up like he used to in Indiana. The only person not at all surprised by this was Tinsley.

"People just need to see me," the 31-year-old said after a run at Impact last Wednesday afternoon. "This place, everybody comes, and I thought it would be a great opportunity for me to come out and play. When I'm healthy, I don't care who you put in front of me. I'm gonna hold mine."

At 33, I think its a little too late to finally start getting serious about playing basketball again. Article points out he got paid $14.7 Million just to not play for the Pacers anymore. :speechless:

Getting serious about a possible $1 mil salary is serious.

He apparently messed up when he had an offer to join the Heat.

Would've been an upgrade over Arroyo & Bibby, Tinsley at the very least has always been a good passer. I think he has 2 20+ Assist games as well.

I think all they gave Tinsley was a training camp invite, but no contract offer last summer.

The guy who really screwed himself was Rafer Alston. He would have been the starter on the Heat if he stuck around and ended the year playing his role.

I like Tinsley. I felt bad for him in regards to the situation in Indiana. Bird didn't want to buy a player out because he didnt want to be one of those teams that pays a player to wear another uniform, but all he ended up doing was paying him not to play. Bird should have cut him loose earlier and let him try to land a new gig.

If I had a team that needed a back-up PG, or even had a hole in the starting line up, I'd give Tinsley a shot.

don't you mean at 31? And no, I don't think 31 is too old. He's got another good 4-year contract in him if he works hard.

Wonder if he's going to lay off the cake and cookies, and learn what 'shot selection' means.

He always had talent but he never knew how to use his talent productively. He was good in 03 and 04, but other than that, he's been a really unproductive player to be honest.

If he's serious about making a comeback, he should play for free considering he got paid $14.7 million to do nothing.
